Popular Post JohnS Posted August 26, 2020 Popular Post Posted August 26, 2020 Punch 8-9-8 2018 - Edición Regional Asia Pacifico LMB Dic 2019 The 2018 Asia Pacifico Regional Edition Punch 8-9-8 has been hugely popular for PCC since its release in 2019. El Pres has mentioned on our forum in 2020 that, along with the Taiwanese Regional Edition El Rey del Mundo Tainos, the Punch 8-9-8 has been one of the top selling cigars for 2020 worldwide. When it first came out a few enthusiasts lamented that it didn't come in a 25-count traditionally curved 8-9-8 box, however, the 10-count Punch 8-9-8 packaging references the traditional packaging by including curved edges on its varnished box. This Punch 8-9-8 was simply gorgeous to smoke 'through-and-through'. Roasted nuts, a chocolate fudge or marshmallow texture, around a medium to medium-mild strength with more notable citrus twang than the last Punch 8-9-8 I had. I still feel that the Punch 8-9-8 is related to the Punch 48 LCDH in flavour and not the Punch Punch, which in my opinion is different, only it's a touch milder due to its dalia vitola dimensions. 28
Popular Post lovethehaze Posted August 26, 2020 Popular Post Posted August 26, 2020 UEB SEP 17. PLPC. Really has settled down and smoking good now. More coffee, twang slight earth and cream then Caramel now but hopefully that will creep in later 28

I would add that I’m not the most experienced person to be asking. I have had a few Punch Punch but not anything close to this age. This is the oldest Cuban I have smoked. Popular Post Rhinoww Posted August 27, 2020 Popular Post Posted August 27, 2020 Contemplating more of these before the Habanos price increases are universal. what will 24:24 bring tonight? about ten minutes we will know. this example is from late 19 and could use some time down. Still a tad muddled in the first third at least. 30

Popular Post X-Man Posted August 27, 2020 Popular Post Posted August 27, 2020 Silky smooth chocolate, coffee taste. Can never get bored of this cigar. 29
Popular Post GVan Posted August 27, 2020 Popular Post Posted August 27, 2020 Visiting @Devo and these are two out of his humidor! The RGPC from '17 was all walnuts and toasted tobacco. The HdM DeLuxe was much more complicated; ATE AUG-19 and tastes of croissants, hints of salt, cedar, butter and creme in the middle third with hay in the last third. These will be awesome with a little more age -- if they get there! Post golf afternoon cigar - Oliva V Melania Robusto that has about 3 years in the humidor. It's beautiful here in Indiana; golf course rough is a lush 3", the fairways are a stunning deep green and the Hydrangeas are in full bloom as well ! 26
Popular Post Paso Posted August 27, 2020 Popular Post Posted August 27, 2020 Punch Punch last one from REG AGO18 lovely box Monte DE BRE SEP 19 26
Popular Post StogieSteve23 Posted August 27, 2020 Popular Post Posted August 27, 2020 Unknown code Choix Supreme that I got as a single from FOH a little bit back. Pleasant smoke. Honey, florals and a slight vanilla note in the final third. Just got these Nat Sherman 2020 TAA's in and figured I'd give one a try ROTT to see if its worth going after another bundle or two. A very pleasant medium bodied smoke. Fresh leather, buttered wheat toast, nutmeg retro. Flawless construction. 2019 RASS - Molasses, charred oak, dried raisins, sweet burning cedar smelling smoke. 32
Popular Post Bijan Posted August 27, 2020 Popular Post Posted August 27, 2020 C&C with an hoyo epi 1. Better than the last one still a lot of wood flavour but just a bit heavier. 26
Popular Post sw15825 Posted August 27, 2020 Popular Post Posted August 27, 2020 2007. These have held on to their body and strength very well over time. They are just filled with soft flavors of wood, cherry or mixed berries, leather and subtle notes of spices. Hints of powder sugar sweetness come and go at just the right moments. Although I don't have a sophisticated method to score cigars and a number just comes up in my thoughts after I smoke a cigar, I'd put it at 95 points. Flavor and construction as most heavily weighted followed by aroma and complexity. Of note, I have been experimenting with wetting the wrappers on some of my older cigars with positive results for the most part. I did a quick dip of this short churchill in distilled water before going to work on it. It did indeed make it more flavorful than the last couple I smoked from this box. 25

I really like P2's with some age on them they can round out into tremendous smokes and seem to have an above average performance with contruction and flavors. I have some 2005's from the original released batches and they are not as good to me as the 2008/09 vintages and later. To me its a cigar that got better and better over boxes from later years. Usually it seems the original releases are sometimes better than later versions, but doesn't seem the case with the P2 imho.
