FOH'ers Daily Smoke

JUL 19 Juan Lopez #1 - Salty roasted peanuts and brioche.  Light but loads of flavor.  Not harsh by any means, but definitely has tannin on the palate like young cigars do.  This is going to be a dream in a few years time.  Glad I grabbed a box!

19 Trinidad Reyes (Too lazy to check the box codes here and I am comfortably seated on my deck).  A little on the harsher side.  Needs some time to get that trini creaminess.

NHL Playoffs in August. Hard to get your head wrapped around it. Flames tanked (unfortunately). Still... make a nice meal and settle into whatever game is on. Punch 48 to close it off.

Couldn’t agree more. I’m all about having a good stock of minutos and PCs around.

started w an oil change (and recycling stop). Moved a dresser from the basement to my daughters room. Removed a chunk of Sheetrock drywall to confirm no cracks in my foundation and to start a repair on a water damaged wall in the basement (overflowing gutters). 
 

stopped and smoked a RASC after lunch. No pictures but delightful. 
 

cleaned my workshop. Removed some Basement interior storm windows near the water damage likely for the first time in 20 years so I could scrape the mullions in advance of painting them w rustoleum tomorrow. Quick run to Lowe’s for supplies and Ace for some bird seed. 
 

a quick rest w a Perla and a beer. This is my second Perla. Better than the first but at least for me still uninspired. Thick smoke but flavor was meh. Will let the rest from a recent 24:24 sixer rest for a while. For now, my minuto rotation of Boli CJ, Party short and RASC will remain the holy trinity. 
 

The Vitolas continues to grow on me though. Easy to smoke quickly or stretch to nearly an hour if the stick is worthy. A wise friend told me when I was just getting into CC to stock up when I saw good prices - I would otherwise regret not having a rotation of aged minutos. Boy was he right. 
 

 

Don't give up on the RGP. It's one of the great vitolas. Just let them rest longer.

Also, pedantry warning - it's not a minuto. It's a perla (as is the monte 3)

TPO MAR 18 Epicure de Luxe. I started smoking these as an early morning cigar with an Americano many years ago in Havana. This box I haven’t reached for often as it has been consistently much stronger than what I was used to. Don’t mind that; just not expected for me from this cigar.



Got the bridge back in but then got stormy so finished the night on the balcony with a MSU ENE 18 RA Allones Superiores. First from the box and it was a very good example.

Good stuff hazy. Kiddo is probably finally sleeping through the night... Mine is 2 and sleep 12 hours a night. It's nice catching up on the 6 months of sleep deficit...

not my first of the night, but wanted to share. Fantastic cigar and format.cinnamon, nutmeg, birch, star anise, all spice ( yes, baking spices are insane)  and black coffee. What a great smoke.

I can vouch for this as well. The burnt toast/black coffee taste was kinda off putting at first. I kept giving them a chance and they turned into a wonderful quick cigar. I actually pull these out more now for my dog walks then anything else. That last half can be as good as any bigger cigar I smoke.
