MIKA27 Posted May 16, 2010 Posted May 16, 2010 Last night, I enjoyed a Cuaba Piramides LE 2008 at my 'Cousin in laws' home, whilst he enjoyed a Jose L Piedra Nacionales )He likes these). Was a really cold night, great chilling out with a glass of red wine near the Chimnea.
brutusthebuckeye Posted May 16, 2010 Posted May 16, 2010 Got up this morning and went to Mcdonalds to get the wife a coffee and i had to get a Mcmuffin and large orange pop(thats right!! here in Ohio we call "soda" "Pop") deal with it....anyhoo i sat back in the shop with a wonderfull Hoyo des Dieux from 06 that i got from Czars(PSP b4 PSP) These are great cigars...Period!!!!
groza Posted May 16, 2010 Posted May 16, 2010 Partagas Super Partagas with Havana Club 3 años... spicy, tasty smoke.
SamuraiJack Posted May 16, 2010 Posted May 16, 2010 1/2 way through and SLR A thats ruling my world, could be smoke of the year so far. SLR 4EVER.
lemmycaution Posted May 16, 2010 Posted May 16, 2010 Por Larranaga Belicoso Extra RE-everything was good except the wrapper started to split halfway through the cigar.
Habanos2000 Posted May 17, 2010 Posted May 17, 2010 Party 898 from Mar 09. Damn sweet smoke although needed a few touch ups because of the windy weather.
thechenman Posted May 17, 2010 Posted May 17, 2010 08 CoRo with some DFH 120. Nice. Great pairing IMHO...
thechenman Posted May 17, 2010 Posted May 17, 2010 Trinidad Ingenios as a was playing in the FOH poker final. Came in 7th. But the cigar is enjoyable. Classic Trinidad flavors, but the draw is a bit tight. I blame it for losing tonight. Must have had too puff too hard on the stick...yeah right...
LeafLover Posted May 17, 2010 Posted May 17, 2010 SCdH Principe at my godson's b'day party tonight. Short and flavorful and rejoined the party in no time.
dicko Posted May 17, 2010 Posted May 17, 2010 yesterday- CAO Italia robusto - my exploration of NC's continue. this was not bad, good value, rating 83/84 san christobel la fuerza 08. very interesting. Ill try and get my notes up in a couple of days but mainly espresso notes, charcoal (sometimes erring on the bad side slightly) and some herbal notes too. 89
jjeng Posted May 17, 2010 Posted May 17, 2010 RyJ Churchill tubos (08). Great cigar! A lot better than the dress box version in my opinion.
bunburyist Posted May 17, 2010 Posted May 17, 2010 agreed the RyJ churchill tubos always seems a notch up for me too. Have been living off PLPCs of late. The manny pacquiao of cigars
Mr.T Posted May 17, 2010 Posted May 17, 2010 Went up for the fishing opener and to open up the cabins.....love this time of year. Had a wonderful ERDM Tainos '97...sssoo smooth. Plenty of cocao, coffee, wood with a touch of sweetness on the palate. Followed up by a EL R&J Duke. I was really impressed with this cigar. I've not been that impressed with R&J EL's overall but this one was really good. I might have to find some of these.
SonGoku Posted May 17, 2010 Posted May 17, 2010 Just fired up a Bolivar Petit Belicoso EL 09 after dinner. An inch in it seems a little fresh like the other LE 09's I've smoked previously.
gersonmorelli Posted May 17, 2010 Posted May 17, 2010 Had a young Diplomaticos #4 last night. First third was really good, medium bodied, paprika and spices. Second third was out of this world good, still medium bodied and a lot of sweetness, shortbread like. Last third was terrible! All I could taste was burning tires. They've been resting for only 2 weeks after I got them from Czars, I'll give them anothergo in a month or so. BTW, paired it with a premium Brazilian cachaça called Vale Verde. Loved it.
gersonmorelli Posted May 18, 2010 Posted May 18, 2010 Just finished a 07 RE PL Robusto. I love this cigar... Enjoyed it with a German Franziskaner Dunkel Weissbier. Very enjoyable all the way down to the nub with leather and a honey sweetness taste. I found that this particular cigar had a full bodied midway through. After the first third I wasn't sure if this cigar had the legs for 5 more years, but I definitely changed my mind. Some nicotine buzz after the great 50 minute smoke.
ChanceSchmerr Posted May 18, 2010 Posted May 18, 2010 Shaking off a recent cold that has filled my sinuses and restricted my sense of taste, I pulled out an Alec Bradley Tempus Lancero.....Very Fine! Just a tasty smoke with cocoa, cinammon and sweet bready notes. Would definitely buy more of these if the opportunity arose. An easy 90.
LeafLover Posted May 18, 2010 Posted May 18, 2010 Was a Rocky Patel Decade tonight. It had it's moments, got really offensive in its last third. Fail. What to smoke tomorrow to make up for tonight?
khomeinist Posted May 19, 2010 Posted May 19, 2010 Had a PLPC while watching the Chicago/San Jose hockey game at a packed, partisan Blackhawks bar. Passed my friend a Bolivar CE and requested a stiff drink in trade. He returned with a large tumbler of Crown Royal Black. Somewhat vile-looking to be sure. A healthy dose of caramel coloring appears to have been added to the standard CR formulation. Surprisingly, the drink matched the cigar fairly well. I love the PLPC. Am looking forward to this year's Asian regional release.
samb Posted May 20, 2010 Posted May 20, 2010 NC Zino Classic #1 tonight with coffee. Gifted by uncle for my wedding. Its pretty good for an NC.
