I knew i was tasting something spicy and refreshing. Ginger. Nailed it on the head. These have really opened up. Great cigar for a rg i dont normally bother with. @rcarlson yes i see what you mean when they are gios. Glad i tried one today. Cheers. A siglo 2 to close out fathers day. 2016 AMO, came in 5er boxes. Honey, hay, some floral and stout. Never has much complexity. Just good flavors from statt to finish. 30
Popular Post LLC Posted June 22, 2020 Popular Post Posted June 22, 2020 Good weekend. I think it was about a week ago I posted up the first RAE MAR 15 Punch Punch from a cab that was good but a bit more moist than normal or ideal. Could be it was in the back of the humidor unopened for a number of years but at the same time I took a second one out and dry boxes it. Had it yesterday and it was very good and certainly more what I’m used to. Later yesterday a LUB NOV 13 Connie A.Today for Father’s Day a good start with a LAR SEP 13 ERDM Infantes. This box always bring back great memories of a guys trip to Havana and lots of time spent with Hamlet at Partagas and the November festival. Then later a SMO SEP 11 CORO with a frozen Mojito. Closed my eyes and though I was at La Terraza in Havana. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 29 1
Popular Post BlueRidgeFly Posted June 22, 2020 Popular Post Posted June 22, 2020 Connie A BRE JUL 19 FOH Clearance. Also meh, but the last third was good. Tight draw. Had to just sip this to get it to return some good flavors, otherwise it got brash. Sipping the Dragon's Milk was totally fine though ?... Will revisit this box someday. RASS MSU NOV 18 - Last one I tried from this box was four months ago. Each has been a little better than the last, but all have had wonky burn issues and got kind of grubby as they went. Decided to dry box this one yesterday, and despite the humidity last night it was really good. Not much stewed fruit (a little about halfway through) but rich coffee/cream and a nice nuttiness persisted the whole way. Nothing fancy, just a straight-up good cigar. Happy Fathers Day to all you dads. Had a nice FaceTime chat with my son and his girlfriend this afternoon, then ended up fussing with: RASCC something-something-2018 by the swollen Shenandoah River. These have not changed a bit in a year. Decent wrapper, nice cold aroma, but a mediocre smoke. I'm just going to forget about the last few for a long while now. 31

Really miss seeing planes passing by overhead - I live in the approach to FRA airport - and being retired LH crew I enjoy seeing some aircraft. I guess you are at the cargo area from the view. Last time I was in HK was 6 months ago and I smoked a cigar at one of the terraces on the departure area. Thank you and happy smoking ! 6 1
Popular Post Meklown Posted June 22, 2020 Popular Post Posted June 22, 2020 The post about comparison of the new Trinidads made me curious to pull another media Luna. Reminded me why I had a lack of memory of this cigar - not much taste throughout. Had a Monte 4 to chase which was much more flavorful 28

Popular Post torsion Posted June 22, 2020 Popular Post Posted June 22, 2020 Switch up, cause variety is the spice of life.Bought this one in the last few months of my stay in NYC from Davidoff downtown - Brookfield place which became a favourite smoke spot even though it was literally the furthest from where I lived on Manhatten. One of those places where if you bought a few from the store you could sample in the lovely lounge, obviously I was nearly always bringing my own Cuban stash but as per the etiquette it's a good idea to support your bricks and mortar store.Customer service always excellent, but then again it's expected of Davidoff. Ok back to the cigar, these were not cheap at all, if I remember rightly $35-40, I've accumulated some good New World sticks to try from my frequent visits.Very enjoyable to my palate.Special shout out to my NYC BOTL@ElJavi76@Gingerbreadman miss you guys..Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk 25
Popular Post JohnS Posted June 22, 2020 Popular Post Posted June 22, 2020 Hoyo de Monterrey Le Hoyo des Dieux 2003 Generously gifted by @Fuzz (thank you kindly!), this des Dieux from a 2003 50 cab was not in any way complex, but it was exemplary! I especially adored the cream texture, light marshmallow and cedar with hints of vanilla. This is exactly as I like them. On the other hand, I find my 2013 and 2014 sticks more prone to notes of cloves, spice and wood with hints of mushroom or forest floor flavours. It just goes to show how patience rewards you when it comes to certain Habanos cigars such as the fabled (and much-missed) Hoyo de Monterrey Le Hoyo des Dieux! 29 1

Popular Post Kaptain Karl Posted June 22, 2020 Popular Post Posted June 22, 2020 Had just a phenomenal TRU Jul 19 sir Winnie yesterday. 95 pointer. Extremely rich, started with lots of orange, spice and shortbread, then settled into a sweet, creamy shortbread with cinnamon. Just phenomenal, this box is going to be worth every penny! 27

Popular Post FatherOfPugs Posted June 22, 2020 Popular Post Posted June 22, 2020 Got this in earlier today, gorgeous afternoon after a morning of some severe storms. Kept the temps down which is nice this time of year in Texas. I'm really trying to age some of these 48s but the LGR MAR 19s are smoking so well right now! 31
