Trinidad Topes MUP Oct 2019

When you purchase a box of Habanos cigars, how often do you find that the first from the box may be stunning whilst the second is mind-boggling average? Welcome to the world of Cuban cigars!

Yes, indeed the first 2019 Trinidad Topes (I feel I need to point that out to distinguish it from the 2016 Limited Edition) from this box was sensational. This however was just ordinary. The first one had strong elements of spice, coffee and butter pastry. In-between it had some savoury salt and slight gingerbread-type sweetness but it was definitely all-quality and all-class.

This second one from the box was more wood, dark coffee and a little salt. I was amazed how different it was. At least it had that butter texture to it which I am currently simply loving in the recent 2019 Trinidad releases.

Oh well and ho hum...it's off to the drawing board as I forget about this cigar and look forward to the next Trinidad Topes I smoke, probably next week!

Plugged Lusitania in the trash. Switch to an old reliable. 2015 San Juan tubo. No box code. Light, sweet, twangy. Delicious

I am on my second bag of Lavazza Gran Aroma and like it but don’t prefer it to the Segafredo. I just received a bag of the Gran Crema so I’ll try that next and based in your recommendation I’ll order a bag of the Super Crema to try.

 And maybe next time I will try the Segafredo Extra Strong.  I have never had it before, and I’m always on the lookout for other types of coffee to try.

Second to last CORO 2001. All savory and cedar, like the prior sticks. Not bad but not a rich experience. 

Holy moly you look like my father. Had to double take as I thought is was a younger picture of him. He is in his 70s now but you are definitely are a younger version of him.

After I busy day back at the clinic it is nice to sit back have a cigar and reflect on what we have had to do to adapt to the “new normal”. It’s been a challenge no doubt but it’s also opened my eyes to more important things in life. Having a BRE AGO 17 maddy 1, I have been a fan of these much before the recent maduro hype train when these would sit and not sell out on 24:24. A great change of pace cigar and one that has aged beautifully.

Close call but gotta give it to the PL Italia.  Second half was just all sweet caramel... delicious.  Dip was better from the jump but never reached the heights of the PL

Very nice. Started off with a powerful flavour bomb that was full bodied that evolved to sweet sugar cane, earth, leather with touches of white pepper and liquorice at a medium bodied level.

LGC Invictos ER Italia MUP ENE 19

Despite the fireproof wrapper, it tasted good for such young age. Excellent construction as it produced lots of smoke. Will revisit in six months or so.

OPS JUL-16 JL1: This box has been predominantly fireproof but this stick is smoking on point.  This is a very underrated marca IMO.

Mine are much darker in color but are smoking an absolute dream. Hopefully I'll have time to fire one up tonight and post a pic.
