Thanks for hosting brother! We both concurred, the new ones have more evolution. The ELs are really tasty but less of a story to tell. Both 90+ for me. I actually smoked my two cigars side to side, meaning I lit them both at the same time and alternated puffs so I could make the comparison in real time. The only real thing these two cigars have in common is the name. Yes, as @ElJavi76 said, the Topes EL is a fine tasting cigar, but is very one dimensional. It has a distinct flavor that dominates to the point where you don't really taste much else going on inside the cigar. At least that flavor is a pleasant one, though I think we were both bored of it by the time the cigar was finished. The regular production Topes has been my least favorite of the 3 new Trinidads, but that is just because the other 2 are so incredibly good. I still like the regular production Topes more than 90% of the regular production Cuban cigars out there. This one was full flavored and a very complex mixture of stuff you would smell in a bakery, like sour dough, ginger bread, and assorted pastries. It was constantly changing and evolving. It was really interesting going back and forth from one cigar to the other. I had never done that before, but it really did give me a unique perspective on how different the two cigars really were. It reminded me of when I was a kid, and I learned to play the piano. The first songs I learned, my left hand would play just one note, over and over again, while my right hand would play the melody of the song. The Topes El was my left hand, while the Topes non-EL was my right. Constantly going back and forth from the same flavor in one cigar, to a medley of flavors in the other. And interestingly enough, the one flavor in the EL was never at any point the same flavor in the regular production Topes. And as a bonus, I also smoked a 2017 Collection Book Montecristo Gran Pyramid. 28 1

Popular Post JohnS Posted May 23, 2020 Popular Post Posted May 23, 2020 Punch Short de Punch TPO Sep 2019 The Punch Short de Punch is a new release by Habanos S.A. but in my opinion there's nothing 'short' about it. Firstly, its length is only 4 mm (or ⅙ of an inch) shorter than a robusto and secondly, it takes quite some time to smoke. A robusto would normally take me around 70 minutes to smoke but this took me 100 minutes to finish! In regards to flavours, like the previous Punch Short de Punch cigars I've had, was all classic Punch...the sour cream, leather, cedar and Cuban twang was all there from beginning to end. Again, it wasn't a complex cigar, but if you like Punch in general then I'd recommend that you give this a try, after all, they do come in 10-count boxes. This was the third one I've tried and it was similar to the first two. Flavourwise, they've been all quite sound. The first two were fresh, i.e. slightly wet, but this one has since settled with a little time in my humidor and was a beautiful change-of-pace enjoyed on a warm Autumn's day. 28

Unfortunately she was put down the last couple weeks before I graduated college (2012) and I never got to say goodbye. Still a bit sad about that. I love (most all dogs) Weims, V's, GSP and anything in the Pointer family. My fiancé grew up with Dachshunds (I've grown to now love them too) which is funny because wiener dogs and Weims are for sure some of the most "Velcro dogs" you can have. Nice pic ?. We have 3 dachshunds. Weimaraner & Dachshunds are quite a personality. 7

Popular Post bigbwalls Posted May 23, 2020 Popular Post Posted May 23, 2020 The smoke you see in the picture is the only smoke output this turd would give off. Gave it the ol' perfecdraw treatment, did the whole pinch and twist method. Alas, it just wouldn't draw. To the ground with this turd. 9 12
