Popular Post El Hoze Posted May 12, 2020 Popular Post Posted May 12, 2020 Siglo VI from a tube. May or may not have opened my first beer and lit my first cigar before noon today. Had to put together a new wooden wagon for my 18 month old this morning which required a hammer so I felt like it was the manly thing to do and well earned. 30 1 1

Popular Post JohnS Posted May 12, 2020 Popular Post Posted May 12, 2020 El Rey del Mundo Taínos 2018 - Edición Regional Formosa BRO Jun 2019 The 2018 Asia-Pacific Regional Edition release from Taiwan (hence the band labelled 'Exclusivo Formosa') is an obvious and wondrous gift to cigar enthusiasts who pine for a time when Cuban cigars were 'less' in girth and 'more' in length. Note that I referred to this cigar as a 2018 release. It didn't actually hit the market until mid-2019. It also represents Taiwan's first Regional cigar. Wow...what a cigar to release first up! The original El Rey del Mundo Tainos had the same dimensions; a Churchill-sized cigar at 47 ring gauge x 178 mm (or 7 inches) in length. Unfortunately, it was discontinued in 2006, as were many other Churchill (and Lonsdale) cigars in the meantime. In regular production we have only three left...the iconic Romeo y Julieta Churchills, the Cohiba Esplendidos and the seasonal H.Upmann Sir Winston. That's why I'm so glad that Pacific Cigar Company, the Habanos Regional distributor for the Asia-Pacific market, brought out a regional release in this vitola. In comparison to your standard Hermosos No.4 (48 ring gauge x 127 mm or 5 inches in length) ERdM Choix Supreme, it had a similar ERdM profile: almond, citrus, honey, a little shortbread and a hint of a texture of cake. This was a tad stronger than previous El Rey del Mundo Tainos I had though. It had more elements of forest floor or herbal flavours. Still, with age, I'm confident this cigar will take on more of that cake texture. My advice remains the same when it comes to this release. Buy these up while they are still around because they have 'legs' for many years to come. 25

Popular Post BlueRidgeFly Posted May 12, 2020 Popular Post Posted May 12, 2020 PLPC TOS FEB 17, FOH PSP, 91 days rest... I've been enjoying a bunch of PLMCs from 2017, and this is my very first PLPC. Densely packed but good draw. First third was alright. Second third was really nice caramel and rich tobacco, final third was richer still, caramel, coffee, floral notes, nice aroma, some bitterness but not at all unpleasant... really interesting cigar, and really good. If this is considered young for a PLPC, and if they are all like this, these are going to be special. Wish I had a few more boxes ? 25
Popular Post teamrandr Posted May 12, 2020 Popular Post Posted May 12, 2020 2014 No. 2 like smoking a chocolate bar. I could smoke one of these everyday probably. 27

I think I’ll have to try one!

Popular Post Toasty Posted May 12, 2020 Popular Post Posted May 12, 2020 Sorry everyone for not posting for awhile, I’m more then a little over due to get back amongst you all. To be honest with you all, I’m only very new to Habanos, but I’m rapidly gaining a better understanding and a stocked humidor. These Hoyo De Monterrey Epicure Especial, are just silk on the Palate. These are definitely my new morning cigar. I also packed myself some more delights as the day unfolds. H.Upman Mag 54, Cohiba Siglo 6 and a cheeky non Cuban Opus X perfection X. Today looks like a good day. 21

Popular Post Chibearsv Posted May 12, 2020 Popular Post Posted May 12, 2020 2019 Diplo 2 Didn’t note the box code but it was HQ from 24:24 in November. Just a well made tasty smoke. Earthy, twangy, pepper and some power. I shouldn’t be surprised by these anymore but I always seem to be. If you don’t need sweetness, these are pretty damn good. 29

They go by the name of Coconut Macaroons. Its a pretty sweet deal if you know what I mean...… ? URG MAR-11 I know these get a bad wrap but this cigar was excellent. Bought a fiver a few years back and didn't like the first three I smoked. The last two were sitting in the humidor for another year or more before I touched one. Today, I'm sure glad I did. Excellent flavors of cocoa, creamy chocolate and baking spices throughout. The lady and I rode bikes over to my grandparents for a little pool time. I enjoyed a favorite NC of mine that I don't smoke often. This was a house blend by the Oliva family produced specially for the cigar store I worked at in Connecticut while growing up. Picked up two bundles in 2017 when I was back there last. 2017 El Cobre by Oliva - Robusto - 5 x 50 - CT Broadleaf Maduro with triple ligero and other Nicaraguan fillers. Black clove, espresso and white pepper and subtle earthy undertones. 38
