maverickdrinker Posted November 1, 2012 Posted November 1, 2012 Glad you are safe bro. Was thinking about you and your family when that hurricane hit.
Pilgrims Posted November 1, 2012 Posted November 1, 2012 PLPC on the way back from Lunch, delicious if massively young, a great smoke either way
Guest RobbieG Posted November 1, 2012 Posted November 1, 2012 NCs only for me in the last 24 hours. Illusione Lancero for breakfast with cafe cubana, Liga Privada T52 DC on the golf course and a Tatuaje Cojonu 2012 Reserva with a Henessey Paradis after a Prime NY Strip dinner. A perfect day as far as I'm concerned.
Charltonc Posted November 1, 2012 Posted November 1, 2012 ramon allones allones extra, the lightest wrapper I have seen on it. Unlike the typical LE flavor.
Michel1968 Posted November 1, 2012 Posted November 1, 2012 Punch Royal ER Benelux 2009. Starting to come along quite nicely...
pjansen Posted November 2, 2012 Posted November 2, 2012 Had a great Monte 5 in the morning and then a awesome Monte GE with some blantons bourbon. Good day.
stunod Posted November 2, 2012 Posted November 2, 2012 A 08 BRC for this Friday night Heck with the cigar.... Thats one hell of a lighter. Dunhill right..
Strada Posted November 2, 2012 Posted November 2, 2012 Heck with the cigar.... Thats one hell of a lighter. Dunhill right.. Yes sir! These can be found for pretty cheap on the bay but they often require repairs. If you like tinkering go for it.
Guest RobbieG Posted November 2, 2012 Posted November 2, 2012 Had a great Monte 5 in the morning and then a awesome Monte GE with some blantons bourbon. Good day. Ahh, Blantons. My fav bourbon at the moment by the widest possible margin. Glorius vanilla finish. The stone nuts with a broadleaf maduro wrapped stick. Needs a pretty heavy leaf to stand up to it. In fact it getting to that time where I am so I think I'll go grab one and a Tat 7th Reserva...
Kosh Posted November 2, 2012 Posted November 2, 2012 RyJ Belicosos from -07. Mild and with very little taste. A disappointment.
Lotusguy Posted November 3, 2012 Posted November 3, 2012 Punch SS #1. A bit too leathery for my taste.
CigarZen Posted November 3, 2012 Posted November 3, 2012 A great Monte 2 HQ from a recent LFH. Nice power and flavor. It was a very good cigar.
canadianbeaver Posted November 3, 2012 Posted November 3, 2012 Never was a big fan but a Trini Reyes tonight was amazing. Will buy another box ASAP
UpInSmoak Posted November 3, 2012 Posted November 3, 2012 Monte PE from 08. Rough start, but finally getting into stride
UpInSmoak Posted November 3, 2012 Posted November 3, 2012 Never was a big fan but a Trini Reyes tonight was amazing. Will buy another box ASAP Totally agree. I was never a big fan of these. I had one last week and discovered what everyone is talking about. A box or two is definitely on my list
Michel1968 Posted November 3, 2012 Posted November 3, 2012 Partagas 898 (2008) Still a bit too young/fresh. Nevertheless a very nice cigar with tons of smoke!
kevinfj Posted November 3, 2012 Posted November 3, 2012 '09 Siglo VI with a really good Stout with a great name.
LGC Posted November 3, 2012 Posted November 3, 2012 1980's Diplomatico #7... great cigar with plenty of balls left.
Michel1968 Posted November 3, 2012 Posted November 3, 2012 1980's Diplomatico #7... great cigar with plenty of balls left. Nice, too late to do a review on it? Would love to know just that little bit more about this cigar...
Kosh Posted November 3, 2012 Posted November 3, 2012 Diving into my NC stash after the disappointing RyJ belicosos yesterday. A CAO La Traviata that's been in my humi for 18 months or so. Good stuff. Lacks the complexity of a good CC, but construction-wise, burn-wise it delivers. Lots of smoke and good taste. Paired with an ESB, a cask strength Laphroaig 10 yo and Die Hard on the iPad.
Guest RobbieG Posted November 3, 2012 Posted November 3, 2012 Padron 45th maddie at the moment. Unique for the brand IMO. Certainly most of their Maduros in particular are known for great pepper notes, but the 45th is the only stick they have ever made that is spicy not peppery. None of the 26s or other family reserves have any sweet or savory spices to speak of. Padrons have never been the most complex cigars in the world but if you love that instantly identifiable core cocoa flavor the lack of complexity is never missed...
