H. Upmann Sir Winston EOS Jun 2019

This is the sixth cigar I've had from the 2019 Xmas Sampler and at just on 10 months of age, this smoked a little harsher than the previous H.Upmann Sir Winston I had late last year. The H.Upmann shortbread and espresso flavours were there, combined with a sweet woodiness and leather in the back half. There were hints of dark or bitter chocolate in the last third, still, this was a great smoke, very easy to nub!

Last time I had Belgium DT was in Anchorage off the tap. Wow that’s lights out! VR is one marca that has eluded me. Maybe this year.. looks like a nice pairing

I bet it’s the lightest beer in Anchorage ? you need something decent to protect you from freezing over. This one is better pairing though with VR IMHO

This morning I moved a half full cab of 2017 PLPC’s to join some other partial cabs in long term storage. Time to open a new cab, this one LGR FEB 18. Very good first cigar showing lots of potential. Slight ammonia but that will go away with a bit of time.


Crazy busy Friday after a very good April. Pulled out a MEL DIC 16 Sir Winnie. So much oil the wax paper has an outline of all the cigars. Quick snip of the very top of the cigar and noticed there was a divot waiting to be pulled out. It wasn’t just a divot, it was a crater (in a good way) Talk about a properly constructed cigar all around great.

La Trova MUP MAY 19 - 1st out ot the box was ROTT and that was a mistake.  This 2nd one has been chilling for a couple months and what a difference!  Nutty and creamy but popped the wrapper in the last 3rd.  Probably just needed to dry box for a little bit.
