A Fantastic Smoke last night. A QdO Corona. ETP OCT 15

Fantastic Smoke with a great wine. 

The QdO started off with great notes of Shortbread laced with orange citrus. On the retrohale a pleasant pepperiness. Excellent construction too with a perfect draw.

As the smoke progressed the shortbread remained and the orange citrus intensified. At the final third there was a very interesting taste of Star anise.

One of my favorites. An awesome cigar! I just wish more of these were easier to find. @JohnS and I smoked this same code together last year and we were amazed at the shortbread and orange citrus flavour. Simply beautiful.

As Rob has mentioned - these cigars have a sleep period when fresh. I have smoked these fresh and all you taste is tobacco. You need to let these rest for a minimum of 3 years. Ideal at 5 years and I am keen to see how these change with more aging.

Punch Punch of RAE AGO 15, from a PSP 50 cab sold in 2016.  They've been too potent for my taste in past years, so this is only my third or fourth sample from the box. Cream, leather, underlying sweetness with vanilla added in the second third. It's a rule to smoke as cool as possible, but that's very important here if you want to get the sweeter, vanilla character.  Medium-full, well-constructed, and very satisfying.
