Interesting, I also received a couple of free five packs and have tried a couple but didn’t enjoy either. Seemed harsh and more like straight tobacco flavors. Based on your comment I’ll try again before giving up on them.

I received from a friend at a herf maybe last summer. I think they were 16-17’s. Mine was very smooth at first and nutty with some twang. Almost like a Connie 1 but def not as refined. In the end it def became more meaty or mongrel but never too harsh for me. I like a little rougher then softer as a general rule though. AND I still have 4 left based on what you said I will smoke a few more before i waste the money. While not expensive any money wasted is a bad use of money.

My wife and I celebrated our 30th Anniversary today and it was a good day.

TEB OCT 08 Bolivar Simones RE . My favorite RE. Outstanding in all ways.


Great dinner with 2004 Chateau de Beaucastel.

Followed by a ARG DIC 14 Cohiba Supremos. Good but with some minor construction issues.


Have to give the edge to the Simones.

2017 BBF  The last couple of these were not right at 60% RH so I threw some in a box with a cup of water in a warm part of the house 67% 70 degrees about 3 weeks ago.  Now a little spongy like a fresh one but it lit easily so ok. Much better. 40 mins to halfway and I’m really huffing on it. Sourdough with nice motor oil spread and a spritz of insect repellent. Perfect. Makes this Guinness taste like prune juice so an added health benefit.

Just snowed here in Chicago land... wtf!   Got the heaters going, working out in the garage with a QDO corona, nov ‘15.  Oh my!  Just what I was hoping for.

Bit of an uneven burn on this Bolivar PC (and a blurry pic) but the flavour is all there. Rich molasses, leather, creamy stout. Touch of singed cake and a Szechuan tingle, maybe a little ripe green pepper. Over mid-body for sure. Grenade alert! MSU DIC 17 and smoking great if you want some ooomph.
