I remember cedar and almost black cherry notes. I agree. A lot of promise. I have another box that I have put away for at least 2 or 3 years. These taste young (because they are), but still smokeable. I taste a lot of cedar. I cant say I tasted black cherry, but I will look out for it in the next one I smoke. They show a lot of potential. 1

Yes, I did the same with the other box I have. Smoked two and gave one away I believe but don't think I'll revisit for at least another 6-9 months. Far more enjoyable ROTT than the Punch Isla's. 2
Popular Post JohnS Posted April 8, 2020 Popular Post Posted April 8, 2020 Diplomáticos No.2 EML Ago 2014 I've really enjoyed this box in the last year since I've 'cracked' it. In fact, today I have 40% of the box left, in other words, 10 sticks. What a ride it's been! This Diplomaticos No.2 was more rounded in capsicum and wood flavours and light on the sourdough. There was also a touch of cloves spice. At 5½ years of age, this was very mild and easy to smoke. I wouldn't say it was as flavoursome as other cigars I've had from this box, but that's mainly because it was so light on sourdough, which is very much a distinctive flavour when it comes to the Diplomaticos No.2. Nevertheless, I nubbed this piramide as far as I could take it, again on account of it being so easy to smoke. What I've found interesting about this box is how some Dip 2's have been toasty, some have been capsicum or bell pepper-laden, others have been paprika spice bombs. I suppose it makes for a heightened anticipation the next time I reach for a cigar from this box. One thing I do know is how consistently good these have been thus far! 26

Just looked those up, look very nice (and almost identical band) but definitely a diffferent cigar. I’ll grab a pic of the box when I visit the humidor.
Popular Post lovethehaze Posted April 8, 2020 Popular Post Posted April 8, 2020 I think I got a 10’er of these for free with some other purchase some years back. 1/3 decent. After that downhill fast. Pitched it but for free life goes on 11 2

Popular Post TTP21 Posted April 8, 2020 Popular Post Posted April 8, 2020 BCJ. MSU JUN 18. These things are awesome. Acquired only 2 in a trade, so a small sample size but I'm now on the hunt for an MSU box. Give me these, Monte 5, and Party Shorts and I'm a happy camper. 24

Popular Post BlueRidgeFly Posted April 9, 2020 Popular Post Posted April 9, 2020 Montecristo Number 1 BOE DIC 18, FOH clearance box After trying a couple Monte 2's and some 1's, I was thinking maybe the Monte flavor profile isn't my favorite. But tonight, tried the first from this box and I'm enlightened. Aside from being wickedly plugged like all the 1's I've smoked -- ran it through from both ends with the PerfecDraw -- this was the best Monte I've had. From the halfway point on, it was distinctly milk chocolate, rich, increasing in depth and sweetness like a fudge brownie to the very end. Not an off note anywhere. Love this vitola too. Started with a Bunnahabhain 12, not a great combo with this stick. Poured a Glencadam 10 after that. The sweetness and saline notes were great with this ? 18
Popular Post Chibearsv Posted April 9, 2020 Popular Post Posted April 9, 2020 RyJ Tacos UBM NOV 18 What a spectacular smoke. So well balanced, lots of flavor. When a cigar is balanced like this, I can't separate all the flavors. Don't need to; just enjoyed it down to the nub. 19

I’ve always had a soft spot for Dips, these have not disappointed ! IMO, you will enjoy. The Spain release a few years back left me disappointed at the time, maybe I need to revisit those... 1
