Bummer, I just smoked one last week and it was all molasses, as sweet as it can be. La Punta used to be sweeter but my latest box is way stronger and not as sweet, agree with you on that.

Christmas Sampler Bolivar Belicosos Finos tonight. Paired with Spring bank 12 Cask Strength and a Guinness chaser.

Great pairing. The Bolivar had some pleasant light earthy notes, toasted tobacco and a bit of spice. At the half way point I decided to clip a bit more off the head and...wow...the spice just intensified and came through even stronger. Very interesting.

The Springbank- A birthday present from my partner (She's a gem). A couple of drops of water was added to open it up. Lovely...just lovely. Notes of cherries, raisins, toffee, and a tiny bit of citrus zest. 

My partner had a couple of sips of it and I must say...for someone that isn't a big whiskey drinker she picked up notes of cherries, cinnamon and lemon zest!I was very impressed! I'm glad she enjoyed it. However, Maybe it will become a problem later on if she starts raiding my stash! Haha
