Again, not it my preferred flavor spectrum of 'sweet' but plenty of distinct flavors of bitter espresso and woody spices. Quite enjoyable if not entirely satisfying

Got this Cohiba Espléndidos from our host from a sampler i picked up back in October 2005. Seems fitting to smoke something nice today. First time in shorts on the balcony it’s really hot and there is almost no wind.

I have been smoking Esplendidos from a 2017 box, with mixed reviews.  None have been bad, mind you.  But some were definitely better than others.  I typically find Esplendidos to require at least 2, if not 3 years down before you start getting the full flavor out of the cigar.  

But enough people have been raving about the 2019s, saying they are smokable already.  I have a 2019 box that I picked up in Cuba in November, so I pulled one out, and damn, this one is very good.  It is much more flavorful than I have come to expect from young Esplendidos.  I’m not sure what to attribute it to, but I hope this is an ongoing thing.

I think I might let the 2017s and 2018s sit a while longer while I smoke my way through this 2019 box.
