backslide Posted October 16, 2012 Posted October 16, 2012 I cracked open a box of 2008 RASCC this morning. What a delightful cigar. I NEED MORE.
Nino Posted October 16, 2012 Posted October 16, 2012 Today afternoon another RyJ Coronas - can't really say they are my cup of coffee, but nice. Tonight a Prominente from the Escaparate of the xxxxx factory from last year. Wow, what a powerful power bomb, left me grogged even if I didn't finished it and stopped with a good Small Club Corona sized nub left ... too mucho Volado or belly empty ?? But creamy, nice aromas, very good. Glad to have a stock of them. Nothing for the weak hearted .... No pics
Puros Y Vino Posted October 16, 2012 Posted October 16, 2012 Smoke a Ramon Allones 898 (circa 2000/1). 94 Point cigar IMO. Such a shame they are no longer around.
Orion21 Posted October 16, 2012 Posted October 16, 2012 SLR Serie A at lunch. A delightful medium bodied cigar. Well balanced with smooth coffee flavors.
DougB Posted October 16, 2012 Posted October 16, 2012 Upmann Half Corona on the way to work- just felt like it. '11 PLP at lunch. Decent, but not the best one of the box so far '08 Mag 46 that I bought privately. Flat and bitter. Ditched. '07 Connie 1- terrible. Ditched. '11 RA Extra.- Better than the above. May be time for a little detox.
CaptainQuintero Posted October 16, 2012 Posted October 16, 2012 You've been hitting the sticks pretty hard recently Doug!
DougB Posted October 16, 2012 Posted October 16, 2012 You've been hitting the sticks pretty hard recently Doug! I have- both spending and smoking Taking a break from both. Good for the wallet and palate.

Lotusguy Posted October 17, 2012 Posted October 17, 2012 Por Larranaga Robusto RE PCC. Not really my cup of tea since it was missing the honey sweetness that I like so much with the PL marca.
CanuckSARTech Posted October 17, 2012 Posted October 17, 2012 On this past Sunday afternoon/evening, had my first cigar in about TWO MONTHS!!!! It was a nice treat, that's for sure, as I haven't really been able to delve into my stash due to work and other issues lately. But, I'm back into it, baby! Had a QdO Superiores RE, a PSP stick from Czar's (box # 0012 of 2400, May 2011 "OGA" code). Amazing hits of citrus and light floral essences at cold. It was a little spongy and underfilled it seemed, but I kept my fingers crossed (it's damn hard to light a cigar while doing this, though!! ) However, sadly, a wind-tunnel loose draw once lit. But, stayed with it, and still enjoyed it. Flavours of clean, rich tobacco, with orange and peach hints actually. Gave it an 89, but without the draw issues, my feeling is that it would have been an easy 93-94 cigar. I got these back at the end of March, so this box has only sat for about 6 months. Even though this one had draw issues, I'm VERY VERY excited for where this box (and others like it) will progress in time. Already contacted Rob about setting aside more for me if he comes upon them.....

Nino Posted October 17, 2012 Posted October 17, 2012 RyJ Corona after a very good and filling Vietnamese lunch with a Thai friend. And to celebrate the confirmation of my rental car for Havana after 10 days of waiting for it from the Cuban side ... :-) a very rich, creamy and smooth Cañonazo Siglo VI ( or as a Cuban friend would say : a Coñonazo )
CanuckSARTech Posted October 17, 2012 Posted October 17, 2012 Having my first BHK 52 right now. Wow. Very nice. Gotta do a full review later...
Guest rob Posted October 17, 2012 Posted October 17, 2012 Two afternoons in a row I have gone for 07 Bolivar Corona Extras. Both were from Cabs - one Feb and one May. These have developed well, and have a good refinined flavour with ecellent body.
Orion21 Posted October 17, 2012 Posted October 17, 2012 A really nice RyJ Short Churchill after lunch :-) These have really come around since being delivered 3-4 months ago.
brazoseagle Posted October 18, 2012 Posted October 18, 2012 With an '06 Diplo 4. What a fantastic flavor pairing!!!!

These have developed well, and have a good refinined flavour with ecellent body. I had an excellent one as well from my friend, a 98. I would even say it was worth getting a cold over! No cigar until friday I reckon.
Orion21 Posted October 18, 2012 Posted October 18, 2012 Casa Fuente Robusto tonight on the patio with a coffee. Butter and a ligero kick! If you are in Vegas they are worth splurging on them. An exceptional cigar.
maverickdrinker Posted October 18, 2012 Posted October 18, 2012 A 06 Cohiba Siglo IV and a 05 Cohiba Siglo II with Riaz, Jean Nick and Shaun at Stogies tonight....
mazolaman Posted October 18, 2012 Posted October 18, 2012 One of the famous Ramon Allones 2011 LE...sat in a Rhiad like courtyard, in Mostar, Bosnia Hertzagovina. Strong, but not too flavourful.
Lotusguy Posted October 18, 2012 Posted October 18, 2012 A rather mild, almost bland, RyJ Escudos LE 2007. Anything stronger than coffee would have overwhelmed the aroma. Must be me - I had the same problem with my box of RyJ Hermosos #2. RyJ LEs and I may never be friends, it seems Edit: really picked up in the last third so in conclusion a very good stick after all
