ramon_cojones Posted October 13, 2012 Posted October 13, 2012 Cigar looks like it's two ring gauges. About to have a half corona with my coffee right now.
ramon_cojones Posted October 13, 2012 Posted October 13, 2012 Half corona was excellent, braz get on these.
winelover Posted October 13, 2012 Posted October 13, 2012 A magical RASS . My POS AGO11 box has finally come round. Before now they were so harsh and unsmokerable. Now rounded and delightful. Happy days.
LLC Posted October 14, 2012 Posted October 14, 2012 What a nice ashtray Gary! Thanks Lisa, I brought it back from Havana last fall.
LLC Posted October 14, 2012 Posted October 14, 2012 Cigar looks like it's two ring gauges. I was wondering about that effect when I looked at the picture but if you look close it is the shadow that is doing that.
DougB Posted October 14, 2012 Posted October 14, 2012 A few of us had a tasting of '06 QDO Gran Corona's early this morning. Fantastic cigar. Wow was that good. Pure and clean. '12 RyJ Mille Fleurs- A real surprise. Fantastic, flavorful and balanced. '11 Hoyo Short Piramide while out on the course. Great cigar and no one out there except me. '99 BCE now on the deck. I got a great one. Crap-shoot box.
Puros Y Vino Posted October 14, 2012 Posted October 14, 2012 Tonight was an epicurean delight. We had dinner around the corner in the Abessess area. I started off with a rich, savory french onion soup. Mary had a mesculin salad. My main was chicken supreme with pasta. Mary had a fish selection of what was borderline sushi but lightly smoked. Quite fresh and delicious. We split a cheese plate for dessert and closed with some espresso. To finish the night off, I lit a Cohiba Maduro 5 Genios from DIC 09. The cigar was the perfect cap. Cocoa, toasty tobacco, salty taffy, milk and bitter. Chocolate throughout. I rate it a 92. What made it more magical was where I smoked it. I found a little cobblestone park with towering trees surrounded by some buildings. One of which was a studio that Picasso had occupied during his "blue period ". the weather in Paris was cold and rainy all day. Fortunately it started clearing up around 7pm and I was able to enjoy a cigar.
LGC Posted October 14, 2012 Posted October 14, 2012 1998 Punch Punch... decent cigar, but always second to the SS#2s.
DougB Posted October 15, 2012 Posted October 15, 2012 '11 RASCC- very tasty '03 HDM DD on the links. Fantastic '11 PLP on the back nine. Good and wild '12 Half Corona- always satisfying
Livo Posted October 15, 2012 Posted October 15, 2012 - ERDM Demi Tasse with coffee while I waited for my tee time. Fantastic, better than expected. - Trinidad Reyes on the links. Very tasty.
mss72 Posted October 15, 2012 Posted October 15, 2012 Smoked a not so great Monte C and a decent Siglo II.
mazolaman Posted October 15, 2012 Posted October 15, 2012 A seven year old Fonseca delica....rather pleasant, in a cafe in Dubrovnik.
Puros Y Vino Posted October 15, 2012 Posted October 15, 2012 Had a great Partagas 898. It was all cream, leather, toasty tobacco. Smoked it in my favourite spot here in Paris. Nubbed it down to 3/4 inch or less. Just a sweet cigar to relax to.
Nino Posted October 15, 2012 Posted October 15, 2012 A R y J Coronas this afternoon after having winter tires put on the cars, and then : Monday again at the pharmacy office !! Two excellent custom rolled cigars, the first a bit harsh at the beginning but developing nicely and the second : BOOM, a perfect cigar. A very "difficult" vitola, the Laguito Nr 1, but really a first class smoking experience for a great get together of 3 men, several beers and 2 bottles of Eau de Vie ... ( The lady in the first picture left early ... the dog stayed ) PS - Also in the picture a box of Phliippine cigars that arrived from Singapore today.
Orion21 Posted October 16, 2012 Posted October 16, 2012 Started the evening with a great Mag 48 EL 2009 Currently enjoying a Trinidad Coloniales while listening to the Giants vs Cardinals. So far it is a nice blend of a QdO Corona and Bolivar Young for sure, a few years will do wonders for these.
jacktarnold Posted October 16, 2012 Posted October 16, 2012 Enjoyed a lovely PL Regalias de Londres RE this evening. Very good smoke lots of sweetness, cream and toasted tobacco. Thanks to deanedmond for putting it into the US box pass.
mbrody Posted October 16, 2012 Posted October 16, 2012 Last night a cracker - JL Short Robusto Andorra. Thanks Cliff! Tonight a D5 in lieu of El Prez's post. So far, it is good. Much smoother than I remember and some unique flavors. Some rest is helping these for sure. Sugar cane then white pepper.
canadianbeaver Posted October 16, 2012 Posted October 16, 2012 Vicariously enjoying all I see here. Terrible cold has struck. Damn!
Rushman Posted October 16, 2012 Posted October 16, 2012 On a Ramon Allones trip lately. Smoked two outstanding specimens of the RASS variety, and picked up two very nice boxes of RASCC today. --- I am here: http://maps.google.com/maps?ll=20.631709,-87.070737
