ramon_cojones Posted October 12, 2012 Posted October 12, 2012 Braz, I'm probably one of the biggest skeptics when it comes to cigars and not swayed easily by new releases. I bought two boxes based on a friend's recommendation (whose opinion I trust and has been spot on every time). I have to say it was very tasty and this was rott which I don't normally do. Classic upmann profile, you wouldn't know you were smoking a half corona basically, full flavor. Actually had it on my lunch break and packed a bit of a punch. Be warned, it is very short (that's not what she said). Also the value is quite low given the smoking time but I like them enough that I will be purchasing more after I have a couple more. cliff notes: if you like upmann you will love these
Rushman Posted October 12, 2012 Posted October 12, 2012 I've been thinking about pulling the trigger on some HUHC's for a while. They have been on my "want to try" list for a while. How are they? My $0.02 they are very good lil smokes --- I am here: http://maps.google.com/maps?ll=20.630088,-87.069990
Rushman Posted October 12, 2012 Posted October 12, 2012 Today a RASS and smoking a Siglo 2 now --- I am here: http://maps.google.com/maps?ll=20.630119,-87.069948
marty922 Posted October 12, 2012 Posted October 12, 2012 HUHC. incredibly good. Full flavour for mine. 2nd last of my 5 tin pack. Will have to grab a box at some point.
Guest rob Posted October 12, 2012 Posted October 12, 2012 cliff notes: if you like upmann you will love these I bought a tin of 5 and smoked 3 so far. They are def full flavoured and full bodied, which satisfies because there is no time to waste on these. I'd def buy a few boxes if I could find them at a fair price. On to my daily smoke - A BBF from July 11. This thing is so under filled and loose that I'm very disappointed. Very harsh also. I knew it was going to be **** because there were so many soft spots when massaging it prior to smoking... Obviously the apprentice that constructed this one didn't follow directions. A real let down because the one I had yesterday from the same box was absolutely fantastic... I nubbed it.
braveheart655 Posted October 12, 2012 Posted October 12, 2012 After very disappointing '08 Magnum 46 and '08 Short Churchill a very nice '11 D4 Tubos. Almost overwhelming clove flavour in the first third.
Michel1968 Posted October 12, 2012 Posted October 12, 2012 A great day out at the Casa in Amsterdam with Ptero (dB69) Got dropped by wife and kid (who had to have a go at the grand piano) - picked me up 4.5hrs later. Kissie kissie, love you guys! Hoyo du Gourmet (slightly out of focus - in all aspects) Petro with Fonseca Nr.1 (in focus - in all aspects) Sancho Panza Belicoso - down right a very good one, lots of character, great evolution along the way. Too bad burn suffered from some tunneling...
Kosh Posted October 12, 2012 Posted October 12, 2012 Ending a great Friday with an ESB, a splash of Camus and a PSD4 (-08). Nice.
Puros Y Vino Posted October 12, 2012 Posted October 12, 2012 Had my worst ever BHK. A 54 whose wrapper split at the second half all the way at the third. The draw was tight and halfway developed a charry taste. Disgusted, I pitched it into a Parisian gutter.

The flavor just isn't all there.
DougB Posted October 13, 2012 Posted October 13, 2012 '12 Upmann Half Corona- (another vote for pulling the trigger on a box. I am on my third. Excellent, tasty smoke) '09 QDO Corona. Trying to get these to 5 years is a lesson in patience. Gorgeous wrapper and delicious time and time again.
kcheek Posted October 13, 2012 Posted October 13, 2012 Just finished an 09 Party Short to cap off my week. It's a rock!
Rushman Posted October 13, 2012 Posted October 13, 2012 Finished off the day with a C&C, a partagas Mille fleurs. Not bad at all. Not great but enjoyable. --- I am here: http://maps.google.com/maps?ll=20.631733,-87.070652
ramon_cojones Posted October 13, 2012 Posted October 13, 2012 Despite not liking bolivars had the best bbf out of this cab so far but my other cigars still trump this. Half corona for my morning smoke can't wait.
Lotusguy Posted October 13, 2012 Posted October 13, 2012 Found a cigar lounge in Taipei... Finally get to try a QdO Superiores. It is quite good, but I thought the QdO RE Francia had a little more intense taste. Prices here are ridiculously high - hence I didn't pick up any of their 1998 Trini Fundadores of which they have 5+ cabs in stock - at USD70/stick
Lotusguy Posted October 13, 2012 Posted October 13, 2012 That store had an amazing selection of REs... Smoking a very enjoyable RA Gordito RE Canada now
thecrowder Posted October 13, 2012 Posted October 13, 2012 Started with al LGC sublime that I had high hopes for, but, was an absolute dud. Went to the RA all ones extra that was stellar and then a monte especial that is also stellar
al321 Posted October 13, 2012 Posted October 13, 2012 05 HDM Epi 1 that was stellar! Top five of the year for me.

Nino Posted October 13, 2012 Posted October 13, 2012 Am quite busy editing or formatting or whatever it's called all of the 700 plus posts on my blog after re-launch and "tagging" them - my right wrist is hurting, so only small cigars ....... jk Smoking my way through a box of H.Upmann Majestics ROA MAR 07 EMS and just finished off a box of RyJ Nr 2 AT BUL JUL 11, all very tasty. Look foward to land in Havana in less than 2 weeks and be able to smoke outside again, from breakfast to midnight, in the heat & humidity, large cigars, small cafecitos and laaaarge shots of Santiago 7 ............
Lotusguy Posted October 13, 2012 Posted October 13, 2012 ERDM Elegantes RE Suiza. Decent smoke but not much evolution and a bit on the weak side.
Lotusguy Posted October 13, 2012 Posted October 13, 2012 Man, the one time someone from the forum finally visits Taipei, I don't live there anymore Which lounge did you end up going to? too bad! Casa Puro or something...
LLC Posted October 13, 2012 Posted October 13, 2012 Just starting a Robaina puro from the farm. Will enjoy it while watching some college football.
