Popular Post GinFizzLove Posted November 24, 2019 Popular Post Posted November 24, 2019 Siglo I APG ABR 19. My first smoke in a couple weeks due to a sinus infection and then some crappy weather. Figured a perla was a good option for a chilly evening. Slightly tight, but adequate draw. Medium body, lots of sweetness and vanilla creaminess. Definitely an enjoyable young smoke. 19

Popular Post SokaKiel Posted November 24, 2019 Popular Post Posted November 24, 2019 After a pretty cold week the temps went up again in Tokyo. Therefore I’ve got time for a HdM Particulares. Bought this ‘03 box many years ago in Dubai, the first one that I smoked back then just tasted of the cedar coffin. Now they rested for at least four years in my aging box, tightly packed with other loose sticks. Finally no more cedar! So far it’s a pretty mild stick, lots of smoke, creamy, a little caramel. Looking forward to the next 2.5 hrs.! Cheers, Leif 19

Popular Post JohnS Posted November 24, 2019 Popular Post Posted November 24, 2019 Romeo y Julieta Churchills ASO Nov 2016 The Romeo y Julieta Churchills has been a revelation for me since at least 2016. Mind you, I wouldn't say Romeo y Julieta as a marca has earned a reputation of bypassing scrutiny in my eyes, in that time, but the famous and iconic Churchill has stood above the other vitolas these last few years (within the marca), in my opinion. What I have loved about it is its consistent delivery of mild, yet complex flavours. Flavours such as chocolate or cocoa, toasted tobacco (at times), cherry (or berries/fruit), anise (or licorice sweetness), rosewater and turkish delight. At three years of age, this cigar was refined enough to preclude a description of having toasted tobacco whilst smoking it, yet it started off with a huge hit of cherry and turkish delight from the 'get-go'. In the middle third it picked up some anise sweetness and rosewater, in the last third there was stronger hints of cocoa/chocolate. It's very easy to understand why El Pres included a Romeo y Julieta Churchill in this year's 2019 Xmas Sampler for many of you to enjoy. It's not because Sir Winston Churchill helped to make this an iconic cigar, rather it's because lately it's been an excellent cigar. 28 1
Popular Post El Hoze Posted November 24, 2019 Popular Post Posted November 24, 2019 2017 Esplendidos. I consistently hear people far more astute than I swear that this is a cigar that should be laid down for a long time, but for me I consistently find myself really liking the younger ones. A bit rare for me as I generally always prefer the oldies. This is delish. 27

Popular Post Habana Mike Posted November 24, 2019 Popular Post Posted November 24, 2019 Beautiful Imperiales from ULA JUN14 Sheen on the capa amazing. Wonderful citrus, cream and balsa notes. Felt compelled to crack a box of Monte Grand Edmundos tonight as it has been ages. Debating whether I'd actually pull one out or not. Dug a box out of the recesses of my labyrinth storage system and found I'd already had a stick from it, so game on. All I can think is very like an Xocōlātl, Mayan hot chocolate with spice and no sugar. Cocoa for days and a hint of cayenne. Dry on the mouth and a touch bitter though in a good way. Very enjoyable. I believe this one has legs for the long haul. 25 1

Popular Post SigmundChurchill Posted November 25, 2019 Popular Post Posted November 25, 2019 It took a free one, to get me to finally try the Partagas Maduro. The best I can say, is that I don't hate it. It is definitely not a flavor profile I like though. Yes, yes, I know, How can that be, it has a lot of bands on it? But maybe if it only had one band, I would completely hate it. 17 10

And after this one, it’s definitely forget about it until late next year. Just a terrible bitterness on the finish killing any subtle flavor it has to offer. Pitched it on first third. The Connie 1 on the other hand was offering enjoyment and definitely did it’s best to save the moment. The RASS still holds title as my Nemesis of the year. A day off tomorrow so maybe I can go big and find CC happiness. Every 3 or 4 years I buy a box of RASS, only to end up giving them away. It takes 3 or 4 years for me to forget how much I disliked them the last time. Something about trying the same thing over and over again, and expecting different results.? 1
