Popular Post lovethehaze Posted November 20, 2019 Popular Post Posted November 20, 2019 NC today. 1926 No6 natural robusto burn, smoke output and draw 10/10. Huge nicotine pop. Strong black pepper in the pallet, wood and salt. Like a SPNP on roids minus the pepper. Not my favorite but no elbows at all. This thing is smoooooth love the ash on these too. More it smokes the better it gets. cheers 25
Popular Post Vito Posted November 20, 2019 Popular Post Posted November 20, 2019 Smoked a Padron 1964 Torp and it was a little too strong and peppery for my liking. It settled down a bit at the halfway point. On another note, I put my Don Alejandro next to my other noncubans as I was surprised at how similar the wrappers are on those Tatuaje Reserva SW to the wrapper on the Robaina. I’m looking forward to lighting one up as I’m newer to the noncuban side of things (quit buying noncubans years ago once I figured out how to source cubans regularly and not just when one of the neighborhood guys got his hands on a box or ten. 19
Popular Post RDB Posted November 20, 2019 Popular Post Posted November 20, 2019 Not my usual thing at all: Pyramides Extra. Tubo of unknown age. Couple of years I guess? Fabulous looker. Bean, milk coffee, some sweetness but more caramel than honey. V nice retrohale. Wonky burn. Creeps up on you, and now I feel a bit woozy. Worth the tariff? Probably not, but I liked it all the same. 27

Popular Post Rhinoww Posted November 21, 2019 Popular Post Posted November 21, 2019 You can only have one first kiss. or one first Churchill short so far neither was bad nor particularly memorable. first kiss was many decades ago though. I have wanted a Churchill short since touring the war museum this summer. 17

Personally I like a little spice in my stogies. But for those who dont, Padrons dont have to rest long for that pepper to smooth out. I had a '64 Diplo Maduro today that had been in the humi just under a year, and the pepper spice was almost non-existent. I agree completely. I have some well aged Olivia V Torpedos 10-15yrs? That pepper is long gone. Medium strength at best. But I think past prime.

Popular Post JohnS Posted November 21, 2019 Popular Post Posted November 21, 2019 Partagás Serie D No.4 MEG Abr 2016 I haven't had a Partagas Serie D No.4 from this box for awhile now. I picked these up as a half-box offering on a 24:24 listing a few years ago and I remember going through ten of the twelve cigars within 12 months (some I handed out). Since the Partagas Serie D No.4 has now surpassed the Montecristo No.4 as the highest selling Habanos vitola in the world, I think I figured at the time that I should have some in my humidor. I must say that, in general, I prefer Partagas on the mild side and well-rested, unless it's a Lusitanias because these Double Coronas are usually big on sourdough, light on spice or pepper and medium-mild or less in strength, even when young. This Party D4, at three-and-a-half years of age, was simply exquisite and similar to a young Lusitanias; this was big on sourdough, coffee and leather flavours, had no spice or pepper whatsoever and was medium-mild in strength. In hindsight, this was the best Partagas Serie D No.4 I've had in some time. What a shame I only have one left from this box! 21
