Kosh Posted September 21, 2012 Posted September 21, 2012 Had an LGC MdO #2 (-07) earlier and are now smoking a RASCC. This one is probably from -12, but it is very nice.
Nino Posted September 21, 2012 Posted September 21, 2012 Friday's Italian dinner at Massimo's in the village - we shared several good cigars, a Che Robusto, a Bolivar ER Germany, a Punch ER Suiza, a '98 Cazadores and a '08 Taboada " muy salvaje" - cigars were excellent & food was also quite tasty
Guest rob Posted September 22, 2012 Posted September 22, 2012 Looking forward to meeting you November, in Havana, Nino!
UpInSmoak Posted September 22, 2012 Posted September 22, 2012 09 Monte #2. Burn is all over the place. I was hoping for a good one. Guess not tonight
maverickdrinker Posted September 22, 2012 Posted September 22, 2012 2008 RE Canada Bolivar Simone tonight...
Ophidion Posted September 22, 2012 Posted September 22, 2012 Haven't been smoking cigars the last two nights because of long work days but I have been tapping into this guy: "When you don't hav time for a cigar, a pipe is your best friend." -some guy
Nino Posted September 22, 2012 Posted September 22, 2012 Looking forward to meeting you November, in Havana, Nino! Thanks Rob - same here !!
Lotusguy Posted September 22, 2012 Posted September 22, 2012 At the LCDH Stuttgart today I tried the Punch Sir John RE, which was much better than expected. Started out rather light but developed very nicely throughout the smoke with a subtle sweetness and roasted aromas. Picked up 4 more for now since I don't have enough space in my carry on luggage for a full box but I will buy one for sure. Then I tried the new Upmann Robusto LE 2012 which was mediocre at best. Unfortunately no resemblance at all in the blend to the sublime Robustos from the travel humidor. Generic LE cocoa and chocolate. BORING! Got one more single to try in a few months. They were July 2012 BD so I broke my rule about not smoking anything less than one year old. Three other guys from the German forum tried them as well and concurred. Picked up a couple more of the Boli Quinta Avenida RE 2009 since everybody now seems to like them. The 4 I've had so far did nothing for me but I'll give them another chance. The Jar looks nice but is too pricey. The JL Distinguidos jar was sold out already.
LGC Posted September 22, 2012 Posted September 22, 2012 2001 El Principe with Greek coffee (metrio)... after completing steps 1 and 2 for El Prez's requirements for a decadent morning.
Michel1968 Posted September 22, 2012 Posted September 22, 2012 Diplomaticos #5... great little smoke!
chrismfontanot Posted September 22, 2012 Posted September 22, 2012 Slow smoking ribs. Dogfish punkin ale. HdM Ep 1, FEB 09. First cigar in 2 weeks
maverickdrinker Posted September 22, 2012 Posted September 22, 2012 A 2007 RE Suiza Ramon Allones Eminencia gifted to me by a great BOTL..
Kosh Posted September 22, 2012 Posted September 22, 2012 Finishing off a looong working Saturday with a Monte no 2. This stick is from 2006 and has been resting in my humidor since early -07. This one delivers everything you expect from a Monte 2. Paired with a tall glass of Coke Light.
DougB Posted September 22, 2012 Posted September 22, 2012 '11 BPC this morning- awful burn '11 PLP while playing 9. nice.
Puros Y Vino Posted September 22, 2012 Posted September 22, 2012 Just fired up an Esplendido. Barely into the 1st third and this thing is already magnificent. No review forthcoming though. Just going to relax and smoke.
canadianbeaver Posted September 22, 2012 Posted September 22, 2012 Pair of Siglo 3's. Matthew and I loved them.
ramon_cojones Posted September 22, 2012 Posted September 22, 2012 ^that's what i like to hear had a meh 08 epi especial, hate thin smoke totally ruins the flavor and experience
maverickdrinker Posted September 23, 2012 Posted September 23, 2012 Haven't had one in awhile. Time to check up and see how this is progressing....
UpInSmoak Posted September 23, 2012 Posted September 23, 2012 2011 PSD4. Simply glorious. Everything you hope for.
Wil Posted September 23, 2012 Posted September 23, 2012 Tried an Illusione Epernay le petit today. Was pretty good for a NC but didn't have the depth or complexity of flavour of even an average Cuban.
Ghabanos Posted September 23, 2012 Posted September 23, 2012 Haven't had one in awhile. Time to check up and see how this is progressing.... and what's the verdict?
phoenix Posted September 23, 2012 Posted September 23, 2012 At the LCDH Stuttgart today I tried the Punch Sir John RE, which was much better than expected. Picked up 4 more for now since I don't have enough space in my carry on luggage for a full box but I will buy one for sure. Lots of mixed reviews on this one. I just had one @ LCDH Hamburg which was VERY green, but pretty rich and smacked of having some potential. I picked up a 25 box while I was in Saarbrucken, so I guess we'll have to just wait and see...
