Onsto Posted April 19, 2010 Posted April 19, 2010 Boli Corona Gicantes with a G&T. Cracking weather and an afternoon on the patio with friends. Had a couple of issues with the draw but a bit of poking and prodding cleared it up. Flavours were epic, robust spice and dark chocolate, very rich. I really like the Churchill format, especially on q Sunday afternoon with nothing to rush off to...
Stalebread Posted April 23, 2010 Posted April 23, 2010 Last cigar was a Mag46 A/T. Don't know the date but bought it in '08. Very good. Really. Has me thinking about my next purchase.
bassman Posted April 23, 2010 Posted April 23, 2010 Cuaba Piramide EL. What a nice surprise. The first, smoked on release, was nasty- with a horrible herbal flavor. The one last autumn was better, but not great. Today's was fantastic, with smooth & rich flavor. Time to put them in the rotation.
JoshMP Posted April 23, 2010 Posted April 23, 2010 Siglo VI - First cigar smoked from my first purchase from Czar. Everything a Sig VI should be, honey and spice and all things nice.
cgarner Posted April 23, 2010 Posted April 23, 2010 VR Unicos, second stick out of the box and I haven't been impressed with either one. Hope this box isn't a lost cause.
LeafLover Posted April 24, 2010 Posted April 24, 2010 La Riqueza. (one of a handful of NC's I still smoke)
Stalebread Posted April 24, 2010 Posted April 24, 2010 yesterday morning: Rafael Gonzalez Coronas Extra, Apr. '07 Flavorful on the sweet, creamy side.
JoshMP Posted April 26, 2010 Posted April 26, 2010 Smoked a punch petit coronation gifted to me by a friend i respect a lot. This cigar actually made me feel physically ill. Had to break out one of my punch doubles to cleanse with.
PADDYWHACK121272 Posted April 26, 2010 Posted April 26, 2010 CoRo with a Weiss beer (Frankinhauser? not sure about spelling) after sunday lunch...yum...
PointSource Posted April 26, 2010 Posted April 26, 2010 Sat: VR DA Cusano 18 (garbage) Sun: Trinidad Robusto T Partagas 898 All were stellar ....except the Cusano 18, which was gutter trash.
bassman Posted April 26, 2010 Posted April 26, 2010 Yesterday- Boli Simone, IMHO the best Boli RE I've had and an 02 Party Lonsdale Today- 08 Lusi. Best post 95 ones I've had.
LeafLover Posted April 26, 2010 Posted April 26, 2010 Sunday afternoon was a Trini Reyes. Tons of flavor without the time commitment. Bit harsh in the beginning but smoothed out just before the second third.
dcse Posted April 26, 2010 Posted April 26, 2010 Saturday: Ramon Allones Gigantes - surprisingly mild for its size. Never ceases to surprise me. Perfect after lunch Sunday: partagas Lusitania - a real powerhouse. Great cigar. Perfect after a heavy sunday dinner.
dicko Posted April 27, 2010 Posted April 27, 2010 plpc 08 - my first, not what i was expecting. very complex, some mint, dried fruit, floral, but also earthy and leathery. very youthful tasting and tannic. didn't get any caramel. hard to rate. i think i enjoyed it lol
dicko Posted April 27, 2010 Posted April 27, 2010 Just finished a ramon allones small club. nothing on its bigger brother the RASS
LeafLover Posted April 27, 2010 Posted April 27, 2010 Monday night was an SCdH Principe...again. Nice sweet, toasty tobacco with generous espresso flavors in this little habano
khomeinist Posted April 28, 2010 Posted April 28, 2010 Enjoyed a beautiful Spring afternoon on my porch with a Partagas Connie 2 from 09. Excellent complexity and depth of flavor for this young cigar. It made my task of grading papers more pleasant than usual and grade inflation was a likely and unavoidable outcome.
dcse Posted April 28, 2010 Posted April 28, 2010 Montecristo Especiales, one of my favourites. A perfect diversion after a long day in the office and the children finally asleep in their beds.
JMacSr Posted May 2, 2010 Posted May 2, 2010 PSD4 tonight, don't know box code (bought as a single) Moments of brilliance mixed with harshness. definate woody and pepper on the sides of the tongue traces of cinnamon and milk chocolate but often became bitter and tannic. Needs more age, will definitely give it another try in a couple of months as I did enjoy the flavors when present.
Cubanface Posted May 2, 2010 Posted May 2, 2010 Smoked a Graycliff Crystal Churchill during the Mayweather fight tonight that was gifted to me. Earth, nuts, rich woodiness, and an a green spice through the nose. Very good cigar, but overpriced.
samb Posted May 2, 2010 Posted May 2, 2010 I had a wonderful HQ Punch RS 12 with a glass of cabernet.
JoshMP Posted May 3, 2010 Posted May 3, 2010 La Gloria Cubana Medaille D'Or #2 (2000) Great cigar brought down by the arrival (1/3rd in) of unpleasant company. Sentence I hate hearing, especially when smoking a cigar from a box with signifigance: "Oh yeah mate, I love cigars. Hey, give us a puff of that one." My invariable response is "I'll give you a puff if you want to give me $50+"
bassman Posted May 3, 2010 Posted May 3, 2010 Feb 07 SLR DC. First from a fresh cab. Did someone as a joke make this cigar from only ligero? Killer strength- made the 01s look wimpy. Loved it!
bob25 Posted May 4, 2010 Posted May 4, 2010 PSD 08 from CZAR. Unbelievable !!! I cant get enough of them.
