mbrody Posted September 14, 2012 Posted September 14, 2012 Really nice 08 boli rc. Boli flavors, just creamier, smoother, rounded with less strength.
Lotusguy Posted September 14, 2012 Posted September 14, 2012 (edited) First ever Cohiba 1996 LE 2011. Aug 11 BD. So totally not worth the price. Yes, it has the Cohiba grassiness mixed with the LE chocolate but so what. I'll take 3 CoRos for the same price, thank you very much. Draw was on the tight side as well - not what you'd expect for the $$$. My rundown of the 2011 LEs: HDM - FAIL (80) Cohiba - mediocre (91 but for the price should be 95+) RAE - WINNER! (93 - 95 the ones I've smoked so far) Edited September 14, 2012 by Lotusguy
ramon_cojones Posted September 14, 2012 Posted September 14, 2012 RAE is a fail for me as well. Robusto T on the patio, was pretty good. I think I need to take a break from smoking for a couple of days to recharge.
pjansen Posted September 14, 2012 Posted September 14, 2012 A '11 PLP and a RG Panetelas Extra. Both were great!

Ophidion Posted September 14, 2012 Posted September 14, 2012 2 acres later: Going for either boli Greece/Crete re or new production lgc inmensa for after dinner.
Kosh Posted September 14, 2012 Posted September 14, 2012 Relaxing with a LGC MdO no 4 of unknown age paired with an ESB and some Camus. Life is good.
Ophidion Posted September 14, 2012 Posted September 14, 2012 Santos sublime from 09 (thank art). Too bad it's windy out, great cigar.
LLC Posted September 14, 2012 Posted September 14, 2012 Just opened a new cab of PLPC's and the first one is off to a great start.

Deodato Posted September 15, 2012 Posted September 15, 2012 Strong, delicious and chocolatey Monte 2: SAO MAY10
pjansen Posted September 15, 2012 Posted September 15, 2012 Had a great 07 Cohiba maduro 5 secretos. Sadly my only one...
Wil Posted September 15, 2012 Posted September 15, 2012 Smoking through a box of H.Upm 1/2 Coronas from SUB OCT 11 and they are very fine. Smoking one now. Draw is a little tight and have had better from the box, but overall pretty good.
Wil Posted September 15, 2012 Posted September 15, 2012 Following up on the upmann half corona with a Tatuaje Verocu 5. Little to no flavor to speak of.
LGC Posted September 15, 2012 Posted September 15, 2012 The first from a 2006 box. Quality tobacco... too bad it was underfilled. Should have grabbed a 1998 Monte Esp #2 instead.
maverickdrinker Posted September 15, 2012 Posted September 15, 2012 just started up a 2011 Hamlet Flying Pig...
Nino Posted September 15, 2012 Posted September 15, 2012 Smoking one now. Draw is a little tight and have had better from the box, but overall pretty good. Had 2 from that same box ( EMS btw ) this evening as amuse geule before and after a great dinner of BBQ ducks with friends, gave one to a friend, all 3 were good, no issues. Smoked the 70's H.Upm. Singulares before the duck dinner and it was almost overpowering with "in your face" tobacco taste, brutally so, very full bodied indeed. And a quite good Dipl. cigar after dinner that was extremely smooth over the whole progression, creamy, mild, no perceptible changes, overall a very "round" cigar in the sense that the blend was really spot on for a mild but rather large cigar. We agreed that this "monster" could be easily smoked after breakfast with a cafe con leche ... Our host smoked a Reynaldo Cimarron that was all "leather and black chocolate". Rich.
hmoon01 Posted September 15, 2012 Posted September 15, 2012 Smoked a nov 11 monte 4, with a dram of Macallan Fine Oak 10. They complamented each other nicely. The esspresso from the monte and the woody notes from the scotch blended into 50 mintues which made me forget the week.. Over all i'd give the scotch a 90 and the cigar and 87.
Kosh Posted September 15, 2012 Posted September 15, 2012 To cap off a wonderful day with the family I sit down with a RyJ Prince of Wales from -99. Some Spooky Ale and a splash of Camus makes this a nice way to end the day.
