Had some time tonight so decided to fire it up. Gotta tell you, pretty damn good so far. Not worth the retail for sure, but I'm very happy to be smoking it. Tons of smoke output and perfect construction. I have smoked a few of these 50th and I agree....very pricey. I think all of the 1926 and 1964 series taste remarkably similar...for me they are interchangeable. But I do like that woodsy char they all produce. Very consistent.

Popular Post JohnS
Por Larrañaga Petit Coronas circa 2014 (thanks @jay8354) I've been so enamored with the Por Larranaga Montecarlos lately that one may wonder why I haven't sampled the Por Larranaga Petit Coronas (or Picadores, for that matter) in recent times? I think there are two reasons; firstly, the quality-to-cost appeal of the Montecarlos and secondly, it takes more time for Petit Coronas to develop the caramel profile I prefer in that cigar. Thankfully, @jay8354 gifted me this PLPC from circa 2014 and at that age, it did not let me down, let me tell you! Whereas a PLMC may typically take 1 to 3 years to develop a dominant caramel characteristic, the PLPC may take 5 to 8 years to do so. This Petit Coronas certainly had a smooth and soft caramel flavour to it, together with honey and baking spice notes. It was a superb cigar, the type that 'rewards you in spades' for the patience you give it.

Popular Post LLC
Enjoyed a drive with top down following a road along a lake. Stopped for this UTE MAR 17 HQ RASS from a cab. Unfortunately the construction was not good so it made the cigar hard to enjoy. The did enjoy the view and the drive. After dinner needed something I knew I would really enjoy. It did not disappoint. Popular Post Islandboy
Just minding my own business, relaxing with a wonderful Sancho Panza beli after a long day under a warm, moist blanket of fairly gray skies and tropical humidity...and this happens. I just had to share the surreal beauty. Oh, and here’s the cigar? 25

Popular Post RDB
First up, a failed PLPC from early 2018. Poor draw, no flavour, wouldn’t stay lit. Pitched it after ten minutes of struggle. Then this PSP Trinidad Coloniales, also young at MUP ABR 18. First third was a bit underwhelming, and struggled to develop a nice burn. But then, really good Trini flavours came out to play. Not very sweet, but with excellent exotic wood complexity. These cigars get really funky in the last third, with all kinds of fatty, spicy animale flavours going on. Worth the premium.

Popular Post SokaKiel
Been smoking in Greece for the last few days, perfect weather and the hordes of summer tourists are gone! And traveling up the coast, north from Athens to Thessaloniki also helps. Cigar + Frappe - quite ok! Every table on the outside decks of the ferry to Skopelos had at least one ashtray! And so many people are still smoking, love it! Relaxing on Skopelos, so green and so different from your typical Greek island expectations! Today in the morning I found a small Jazz Café down in the main port, tucked away in a small corner, outdoor seating under a big tree, good music! Tonight I’m at Kapnotopi Oinotopi in Thessaloniki, a small restaurant/bar with a surprisingly big cigar selection that puts many Hotel Cigar Lounges to shame (actually looked at the Four Seasons outside Athens on Tuesday and they literally had six boxes in their full size cigar cabinet!)
