Popular Post LLC Posted September 10, 2019 Popular Post Posted September 10, 2019 GEO MAY 15 RAGThis has been a great box so a while ago I put it aside and started a new box. The new box has been good but not this good. Again this box delivered and I enjoyed it with an Americano while watching MNF. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 27

Popular Post RDB Posted September 10, 2019 Popular Post Posted September 10, 2019 We’re not supposed to do this, I know, but... a Cohiba Esplendido ROTT. Within an hour of the mailman calling, after travelling right round the world. Couldn’t resist. This is from a carton of 15, code is TPO ABR 18. Wrapper is quite dark, mottled, thin and sheeny. Construction and draw have been excellent. Not the classic Cohiba flavours! This is darker and fuller bodied. More nuts and dark milky coffee, no sign of the grassy citrus that Cohiba (uniquely) can bring. In fact the last third reminds me of Upmann, with that rich roasted nuttiness. There’s a waft of fine wood smoke, and an undertow of damp earth. Satisfying. In the last third the burn gets reluctant. No draw issues, no uneven combustion, it just feels too damp and oily. So my conclusion is that these will be really, really good with more time. These cardboard packs are significantly cheaper than the varnished boxes, and still available in the store. Get in there! 21

But I made the mistake of lighting up too late on a humid evening. Dampness with temps falling spoiled the experience. Second half soon went squishy and hot. Before I realized it it was too late to move inside. A shame, my bad. (MLO OCT 11) 15
Popular Post HumidorJuan Posted September 10, 2019 Popular Post Posted September 10, 2019 Upmann 2. Wow. First one for me. It’s like hazelnut wafers. I’m so pissed I missed the 2424 a few weeks back I need more of these in my life 23

Popular Post wineguy Posted September 10, 2019 Popular Post Posted September 10, 2019 I love Trini Fundys but this box has been a challenge, roughly half way through the box and at least 3 plugged including one I shared with @Cayman17 at my club that he was unable to smoke. I seem to have saved this one with perfect draw but damaged the wrapper trying to roll the knot out.....SLE SEP 16. 15 2
Popular Post Gamehawker Posted September 10, 2019 Popular Post Posted September 10, 2019 My last cigar that I smoked when I was 57 was a spectacular over 5 1/2 year old H. Upmann Connoisseur A “LUB ENE 14”. So I decided to follow that up with the first cigar of being 58 with an awesome H.Upmann Connoisseur No. 1 “USE OCT 11” while home roasting coffee. This incredible cigar started off with caramel and chocolate notes in the first third and a medium strength. The second third transition to more chocolate and nugent notes and remained a medium strength. The final third went back to a caramel and chocolate notes with a more earthy taste and slightly picked up in strength. As you can see I did not want it to end and smoked it to the very nub and almost burned my fingers. These cigars keep on getting better with age and at almost eight years of age I think they will have many more years to get better (10+ years). If you ever have a chance to smoke a well aged H.Upmann Connoisseur No. 1 you will not be disappointed. I am so glad I have over 4 1/2 boxes of the 2011 vintage of this gem of a cigar. Cheers! ? 21
Popular Post JohnS Posted September 10, 2019 Popular Post Posted September 10, 2019 Romeo y Julieta Churchills ASO Nov 2016 The Romeo y Julieta Churchill has enjoyed somewhat of a revival on our forum in the last few years. In the past 12 months that reputation has grown to the point where it is now regarded as one of the top ten Habanos cigars currently. Judging by the many different box-coded offerings I've had of this cigar in the past 24 months, I can't help but agree with this assessment. Tonight's Churchill was two months short of three years and at this point of its development I noticed that it wasn't as sweet as previous RyJ Churchills I've had aged 12 to 24 months since 2016. So, no strong turkish delight or anise-type licorice sweetness, but rather a more softer coconut/cream and cherry flavour that remained consistent throughout, even well into the last third. This was a no-brainer to nub and if you are new to Romeo y Julieta as a marca, or simply don't like it due to its propensity to offer up toasted tobacco blandness from time-to-time, don't discount giving some recent RyJ Churchills a go. I wouldn't be surprised if you were glad you did. 28
