phoenix Posted September 10, 2012 Posted September 10, 2012 Been toiling over steel pot and open fire better part of the afternoon now about ready to sit down for traditional Goulash soup with friends and family in Gunzburg, Germany. Absolutely Priceless! 2009 GER RE Boli 109's will be lit afterwards so stay tuned!
ramon_cojones Posted September 10, 2012 Posted September 10, 2012 Juan Lopez #2, a delightful little smoke from 08. Quite surprised how the JL marca flies under the radar so well. Hopefully these aren't put on a discontinuation list anytime soon. They don't really fly under the radar lots here smoke them. May do an 02 winston today not sure yet just had breakfast lol.
Lotusguy Posted September 10, 2012 Posted September 10, 2012 Now that's what I call a lunch smoke... Sancho Panza Sancho from 2000 Unfortunately, just like the previous 6 from that box, a total disaster in terms of draw and flavor. Horrible. Prime example why those years have a bad reputation. The good news is that now I have only three left.

Nino Posted September 10, 2012 Posted September 10, 2012 Now that's what I call a lunch smoke... Sancho Panza Sancho from 2000 Unfortunately, just like the previous 6 from that box, a total disaster in terms of draw and flavor. Horrible. Prime example why those years have a bad reputation. The good news is that now I have only three left. Had one from 00' last Saturday after the suckling pig and that box has been outstanding so I feel for you. Have one left and hate to see it go away... Bought them in Spain after the announcement that they were discontinued and they have been consistently good. Ay, Cuba ....
Nino Posted September 10, 2012 Posted September 10, 2012 Another Monday, another pizza in the piazza, another bottle of good Irish Whiskey, good cigars and Adele live at the Royal Albert Hall on the speakers ... what else can one ask for ................. Cigars we shared : Custom rolled Robusto, 90's SLR Regio ( outstanding ), RA Spain ER ( excellent ) , H.Upm. Monarcas ( a bit plugged ) Whiskey we shared : Knappogue Castle 12 yr old matured in Bourbon casks.
Strada Posted September 10, 2012 Posted September 10, 2012 Last night with Eve, we had 07 Unicos and 09 BGM for her. Both of them were outstanding.
ramon_cojones Posted September 10, 2012 Posted September 10, 2012 09 sig vi, in the mood for a cohiba and trying to get rid of these, last third disappointing as usual
Ophidion Posted September 10, 2012 Posted September 10, 2012 GEP MAR 04 monte ESP 2. Fan-f'in-tastic.
ramon_cojones Posted September 11, 2012 Posted September 11, 2012 Well my luck with tight/plugged cigars continues. Just tossed a 10 upmann 2 and an 11 d4. I can honestly say with my track record qc has not improved. Very tight draw on both prevented hardly much smoke and enjoyment was nil so trashed both after an inch. Don't even feel like lighting up again pretty disgusted right now. Prez you need to have a word with habanos.
DougB Posted September 11, 2012 Posted September 11, 2012 '11 PLP- Perfect lunch smoke enjoyed under the trees '11 BPC while walking the dogs. Too distracted with b.s. to enjoy it much '11 RA Extra now on the deck. Perfect early fall weather. Now that I tapped in to this box I have a hard time staying out of it.
maverickdrinker Posted September 11, 2012 Posted September 11, 2012 I think I finally beat this cold. Lit up a 2009 Reynaldo Canonazo Custom Roll
Lotusguy Posted September 11, 2012 Posted September 11, 2012 After that awful Sancho, I lit a Monte Purito since I was busy working on my laptop and didn't want anything that would require any attention and what do you know, it was actually not bad ugly wrapper but what do you expect. Then I had a Punch Petit Coronation a/t from 2008 that was quite pleasant. After the day I've had, I will light up something nice tonight - we will see what strikes my fancy.
Rushman Posted September 11, 2012 Posted September 11, 2012 Smoking a Choix Supreme, back at the shop. Will report soon on adventures in smoking and being artificially poor while on vacation on Holbox Island soon. Some good pics and stories. --- I am here: http://maps.google.com/maps?ll=20.630153,-87.069806
maverickdrinker Posted September 11, 2012 Posted September 11, 2012 Some Makers Mark and a 2009 Alfonso Robusto Custom Roll
Lotusguy Posted September 11, 2012 Posted September 11, 2012 Fantastic RG Lonsdale from ABR 2002. Sickly greenish wrapper but oh so good! At least I am having a nice cigar while waiting for a midnight conference call
Michel1968 Posted September 11, 2012 Posted September 11, 2012 Trinidad Robusto T (2009), another 'meh' experience from this GLP ABR 09 box. First third extremely boring, rest okay yet ultra linear... And for what it's worth... the new Quintero Favoritas - not smoked yet
canadianbeaver Posted September 12, 2012 Posted September 12, 2012 Monte Edmundo on back deck in the city. Matthew is in Vegas so FOH's there look after him pls.
Lotusguy Posted September 12, 2012 Posted September 12, 2012 First a Monte Sublimes LE 2008. Fantastic smoke, leagues better than the Grand Edmundo I had the other day. Much closer to the creamy Monte profile Are they worth the crazy price people are asking for them now? That's a different question... Followed by an (always excellent) RG Slenderella from 1999.
Ophidion Posted September 12, 2012 Posted September 12, 2012 Recent acquisition '10 unico. Fantastic.
Ophidion Posted September 12, 2012 Posted September 12, 2012 My second from the PYF NOV 05 box I scooped up a month or so back. Firm draw but tons of smoke and incredibly tasty.
Charltonc Posted September 12, 2012 Posted September 12, 2012 HDM petit robusto 2011 and an average H. Upmann Magnum 46 from 05, firm draw.
