JohnnyCigar Posted July 19, 2019 Posted July 19, 2019 Yes, it took me almost exactly an hour. I could have smoked faster. But, I like to take my time with a good cigar. IMHO a good cigar is never rushed. It takes me around 40-45 minutes to smoke a #5 or RG perlas. 1

Popular Post JohnS Posted July 19, 2019 Popular Post Posted July 19, 2019 La Gloria Cubana Medaille d'Or No.4 ETP Oct 2015 (thanks @Luca!) Thank you @Luca for gifting me this awesome cigar. What is awesome about this La Gloria Cubana Medaille d'Or No.4? Well, firstly the vitola dimensions...who among us doesn't appreciate the throwback to the thin ring gauge? At 32 ring gauge x 152 mm or 6 inches in length, like the slightly bigger Por Larranaga Montecarlos (33 ring gauge x 159 mm), this cigar needs to be smoked slowly to be appreciated. Secondly, it's fantastically complex, like La Gloria Cubana in general, which benefits from a rested period, in my opinion. I loved the fruit, wood and subtle spice in this cigar today, but what I really enjoyed was the nutty creaminess that I found more evident at this stage of its rest (3 years) than more youthful varieties of the LGC Medaille d'Or No.4. My conclusion after smoking this today was to source a box for myself and soon. The only problem with that is resisting the temptation to smoke them too quickly, both as a cigar and in regards to giving them time to mature. 30

Popular Post Habana Mike Posted July 20, 2019 Popular Post Posted July 20, 2019 First Gran Corona via Almere, 2017 RE released about a year ago now - glad it's not a Montesco! Very tasty with potential, try another in a year or so. 25

Very tasty with potential, try another in a year or so. I just picked up a box in June while I was in Amsterdam. They look delicious. I will let them rest a while based on your experience. I think these will be incredibly good with some time. 1
Popular Post canadianbeaver Posted July 20, 2019 Popular Post Posted July 20, 2019 Home from Florence/Tuscany to Toronto. Will drive two hours north to my house in the morning. Smoking these beauties we bought in Italy. Six cigars only but got the box. 2018. Dumas. Lovely! Molto Bene! CB 25
Popular Post VRATJV07 Posted July 20, 2019 Popular Post Posted July 20, 2019 First Talisman. UAO AGO 17. Paired with a hazy IPA. First inch was a little rough, but then it started to open up. Very silky smoke and well balanced. 21
Popular Post MigsG Posted July 20, 2019 Popular Post Posted July 20, 2019 UEB JUN 18 Magnum 46 Great cigar. I can best describe it as chewing a juicy fruity gum while having a creamy sweet mild coffee with "chewy smoke", if that makes any sense. So much better than the Connoisseur B I had last night, too disappointed to post a photo of that here, LOL. Thanks @Bucky McSwensen 24
Popular Post Luca Posted July 20, 2019 Popular Post Posted July 20, 2019 Was hoping to post this last week but I had trouble uploading the pictures! What a great weekend! Awesome company and brilliant cigars 2008 Cohiba Maduro Secretos: Thank you @Trevor2118 Excellent smoke. Still has its strength and flavour. 2005 Cohiba Corona Especiales: Thank you @Trevor2118 Wow. A stunning Corona. Great notes of Cohiba grassiness, mild coffee and nut. The retrohale also had a nice (slightly spicy) tingle. 2018 QdO No. 50: Thank you @JohnS One of my favourites in the QdO Range. Still needs more time down. Great construction. Nice brioche notes. 2008 QdO Panatelas: Thank you @baragh Super smooth and cool smoke. Great notes of shortbread with a slight orange zest to it. 2006 Cohiba Robusto: Thank you @Trevor2118 I have never had a CoRo this old and it was an amazing experience. Cohiba grass, coffee and cream. Slight 'butteriness' is there also. Wow! 29
Popular Post David88 Posted July 20, 2019 Popular Post Posted July 20, 2019 I had a 2015 picadores tonight. These still aren’t getting that PL sweetness associated with the plpc at around this age but still very pleasant smoke. This one was a little underfilled but it’s been a pretty consistent box overall 20
