OBM JUL 16 with a lovely rich colorado colour and good draw. Started quite mild and gentle in flavour, but steadily built in sweetness and richness, with just a touch of spice in the last third. Flaky whitish ash that blew all over the place, and needed quite a few touch-ups. Very nice long smoke, I’m now properly caffeinated and nicotined. A true Cuban classic. Later in the day, a little contrast: teeny tiny Monte Media Corona. To be honest... these are not great (RAU JUL 16). They are ok, but just don’t have the classic chocolate I look for in a Monte, or much elegance. In fact I ordered a great looking PSP box from our host to see if those are better. If not - no more MMC for me! By contrast, the Petit Royale is a fantastic little RyJ with lots of the flavours of that marca, plus a mongrel twist. 24 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I keep seeing those beautiful PSP boxes on 24 and I am gun shy but very tempted. This box of 10 I got in Cuba a few years back and they have been inconsistent. But the last 2 have been very pleasant. I payed an absurd amount for the sticks I bought there but it was worth it. I've been trying CCs for about 6 months now and have enjoyed every minute of it. My humidor is slowly going through an overhaul. Now if I could just find a way to trade the NCs I have for some more Cubans. Nothing, and I mean nothing, beats this in the Habanos catalogue in terms of value for money.
