PLPC 2017. My 1st ever. Truly wonderful. Just as [mention=5074]Elpresidente[/mention] describes it. Bitter chocolate with burnt sugar and toasted tobacco. But for me not as mongrel as I thought. Pretty silky as well with just enough bite to know it’s there.

To me the mongrel aspect is more of a full or harsh strength. Not the ammonia taste but more of a wow i am smoking feeling. Usually people advise to “lay down “ a cigar b/c it is is more “mongrel” or full and needs rest. In the case of the PLPC it seems common consensus is 5 years. This one smoked smooth as silk ! Not really any bite back or overwhelming puffs to me. Really a pleasure to smoke. This is my definition not sure it’s agreed upon but it’s how it makes sense to me.

Working through that newbie sampler. Just checked on USPS and I have 2 special treats coming in today - box of Cohiba especiales and PSP RyJ Churchills. There's no way I'm not trying one of the RyJ ROTT ?

 

ROTT Cohiba Corona Especiales from 24:24. Kicking. My. Ass. Definitely needs rest but thoroughly enjoying. Also just got my first 2 boxes from my initial FoH spree, and can I say, I've never seen sticks as nice as these. The PSP RyJ I received look like they've literally been brushed with oil lol.

Getting over a cold. Seems that my palette goes flat after half of a cigar consistently. Testing out my taste buds today with a cheap and cheerful RyJ2,  It failed. First half, yum, by the second half my taste buds were killed... now I cant even taste my coffee. Ill wait until the weekend I suppose.

Crazy. It is probably my favorite new cigar to have been released in the past three years. I've called it the Behike of HdM, I've been so impressed. Bought both tubos and regular boxes, construction has always been flawless (and they've been smoking like they're at least a couple years older than the box code). Hope you'll have some bangers to come!

Vigia goodness and a 2014 Mille Fleurs (first Cuban I ever smoked some 15 years ago). When RyJ cheap and cheerful have good construction, they are hard to beat value wise.

Lovely young VR Famoso, ARS AGO 18. Will definitely be better with age, but all the same a rich and satisfying smoke now. With some disgusting Captain Morgan ‘rum’ filth. Hermoso No.4 is a great size for me.
