CigarAsh Posted August 21, 2012 Posted August 21, 2012 Went to a Duck/hunting lodge way out in the country yesterday with 5 friends, well - three friends and two brothers. Spent the day blasting shotguns at clay pigeons, then large amounts of beer, great bone in strip steaks and lots of great wine. The after dinner cigar of choice was the Montecristo Grand Edmundo. I think these are just fantastic, big cigars for the close of a magnificent day. One friend described the cigar as an orgasm that just wouldn't stop (I think he liked it). I love the opening of spice and chocolate these cigars deliver. They just scream for a good whiskey to go with them, so I obliged.
phoenix Posted August 21, 2012 Posted August 21, 2012 Really dark and oily (i.e. PSP) wrapper '10 CoRo. Now that's what I'm talking about!
anthem Posted August 22, 2012 Posted August 22, 2012 about to fire this up Looking forward to your comments/review. Nice looking cigar Art!!!
LGC Posted August 22, 2012 Posted August 22, 2012 1998 Punch Super Selection #2. Paired it with a sparkling rose... could have went with something stronger, but opened the bottle for dinner and was refreshing. Here's my review: First 1/3... Good Second 1/3...Great Last 1/3... Focking great!
Puros Y Vino Posted August 22, 2012 Posted August 22, 2012 Trini Reyes over lunch. Always good. Very black ash though.
cckandb24 Posted August 22, 2012 Posted August 22, 2012 ERDM Lonsdale from 2002 - stellar! I got a fiver of these incoming from 98. Can't wait
Rushman Posted August 22, 2012 Posted August 22, 2012 HAd a stronger than normal RASS followed by a break from my normal routine Romeo #2 which was what RyJ's should be. Enjoyable cigar. --- I am here: http://maps.google.com/maps?ll=20.631731,-87.070634
Lotusguy Posted August 22, 2012 Posted August 22, 2012 After a REALLY long travel day (it's now 2:17am in Montreal), I broke my own "don't smoke anything less than 1 year old" rule and had a Siglo I from Oct 11. Ammonia, harsh, and spicy They need at least one more year.
ramon_cojones Posted August 22, 2012 Posted August 22, 2012 jl1 yesterday, so far epi 1 has been the most enjoyable but the jl1 is like a jl2 but more flavor I want to say, will have to smoke more
phoenix Posted August 22, 2012 Posted August 22, 2012 Original release SCDLH Oficios. Beautiful aroma and smoke but tight as virgin *****
DougB Posted August 22, 2012 Posted August 22, 2012 '12 Upmann Half Corona '10 Hoyo Short Robusto. Surprisingly very tasty. Probably an '11 BPC tonight while watching LFTH
Deemancpa Posted August 22, 2012 Posted August 22, 2012 This is my 3rd D5, the first third was pepper, then leather/cedar, last third more spice/pepper. Second was little pepper, leather/cedar, last third some pepper. Consistent? probably not. The spice was a blast in the first one, small amounts in the next two. d
maverickdrinker Posted August 23, 2012 Posted August 23, 2012 A few things today celebrating a great BOTL's birthday!!! A RA RE Asia Pacific Estupendo, not sure if it a first or second release. Underwhelming, disappointing, bland and one dimensional. Pitched it halfway through. A RA RE Canada Petit Unico. Strong cayenne pepper, interlaced with stwed fruit, leather and cedar. Needs more time. Put away for awhile. Strong little guy. Eat before smoking. Ended the night with a BHK 52. Well, I think everyone knows what I think of BHKs
Lotusguy Posted August 23, 2012 Posted August 23, 2012 Three cigar night at Stogies Montreal with Sam, Simon and Shlomo plus fiancée - great times! Thank you for the evening Had a '92 Joyitas courtesy of Dan - fantastic, but did not taste like a Monte. Then a 2001 MdO #4, also courtesy of Dan - these ALWAYS deliver. Finally a Upmann Connie #1 from 2003. Kicking myself for not picking up a whole box when I had a chance. Look at that dark wrapper And guess what I had for dinner... Schwartz's I love Montreal!
Rushman Posted August 23, 2012 Posted August 23, 2012 Had a stupendous diplo 2 from 2010 and a mediocre partagas corona sr --- I am here: http://maps.google.com/maps?ll=20.631721,-87.070651
