I really like P2s in general, but this was the third one of the box that tastes just plain bad. I’m going to let them sit another year and then check them out again. Do you recall the box code on the terrible tasting Partagas P2? 1
Popular Post WABOOM Posted April 11, 2019 Popular Post Posted April 11, 2019 Juanita lancero from 2017. Best tasting cigar I've ever had. Still soft and pliable. Definitely tasted fresh. The cold aroma off this was like no other cigar I've ever smelled. Extreme leather, manure, and a floral stink that reminded me of a humid summer morning. Here's the crazy part... you know the sweet smell of roadkill? I got a hint of that. Just slightly. It was not off-putting. Draw was tight in the 1st half but it was doable. These will be stellar in a couple years. If I would have dry boxed it in a jar for a month, I bet it would have been nothing short of mind blowing. Tasting notes: Sour leather, fresh earth/clay, very floral (rose, dandelion), slight citrus zest, woody notes of oak.Cigar went out with 2 inches left and that's ok because I started getting ammonia. Overall it was a phenomenal smoke. 21 1

Popular Post bigbwalls Posted April 11, 2019 Popular Post Posted April 11, 2019 H. Upmann Connie #1 - Feb 16 This is just what I needed. I’ve been bored as hell, resting from a hernia surgery. Finally felt up to going outside for a good stogie. A quick plunge with the perfecdraw and this baby is billowing smoke. The smoke is velvety smooth, with heavy flavors of tea and cream. There’s some roasted nuts and leather as well, but the tea and cream are at the forefront. 19
Popular Post JohnS Posted April 11, 2019 Popular Post Posted April 11, 2019 Montecristo No.4 UEB May 2018 This was my third cigar from this box and it was every bit as tremendous as the first. Below is what I wrote in my notes of the first cigar from this young box... Well, my dear friend @Luca has been telling me for a month or two to sample this UEB May 2018 box we both acquired recently, and boy, I've got to say, he knows his stuff. This first Montecristo No.4, despite being only 9 months old, was spot on the money! Simply glorious in every way. It had the perfect balance of cocoa, milk coffee, cream, nut and a little leather which screamed "Montecristo at it's finest" all the way. What a shame this cigar only lasted 45 minutes! So, the third one was pretty much like that except I nubbed this until one-eighth of an inch and was desperate to smoke more. I can happily report that there was no damage to my fingers! 21 1
Popular Post aphexafx Posted April 11, 2019 Popular Post Posted April 11, 2019 Enjoying this ASU MAY 18 Monte 4 as @JohnS posted his above. Different factory. Same hue. Same delicious. A good month for Monte 4s, then. 20
Popular Post RDB Posted April 11, 2019 Popular Post Posted April 11, 2019 Punch Punch tonight, UTE SEP 16. Claro-Colorado, lovely delicate spice, creeping up from well under to just over mid-bodied. Forgiving of being smoked a little fast. When people say ‘woody’ I often think of tannic, bark flavours. But this was woody in a sweetly aromatic way, precious wood and perfumed oil. A much needed relaxation. So happy to have almost a full box of these left. 22
Popular Post Dynamo320 Posted April 11, 2019 Popular Post Posted April 11, 2019 Saw these come up on 2424 tonight and decided to dip into my box I’ve been holding since last fall when I picked these up in Cuba. UTL DIC 17 20

Popular Post Burningman Posted April 12, 2019 Popular Post Posted April 12, 2019 Monte #1 unknown age & box code. This cigar came as a bonus from FOH with a box purchase a few months ago. It was tasty and satisfying. Very leathery halfway through. It really impressed in the final third tasting like walnuts and slightly salty/sweet. About 1.5 hours from start to finish. 18
