Popular Post WABOOM Posted March 9, 2019 Popular Post Posted March 9, 2019 LUB MAR 15. Firm draw and a perfect conical "witch's titty" for an ash. That's where they seem to taste the best for me, a couple notches below too tight of a draw. In addition to twang, leather and white pepper, I'm getting a vegatle note that reminds me of rutabaga or a very mild radish. A first for me. Really nice cigar. 19
Popular Post AbasCigar Posted March 9, 2019 Popular Post Posted March 9, 2019 Another montecristo especiales no. 2 from my first 24:24 order. I promised myself to let the box age before digging in further... it was too hard so I bought 2 more boxes instead 24 1

Popular Post JohnS Posted March 9, 2019 Popular Post Posted March 9, 2019 Ramón Allones Celestiales Finos (thank you @alloy!) The Ramon Allones Celestiales Finos. No doubt you've heard of it, if you've perused this forum a little time, for this cigar equates to the ancient city of Atlantis, El Dorado or the Holy City of Mt Zion at the end of the Book of Revelation. In other words, on the one hand discussing it when you haven't had one (ever or even for awhile) adds to its mythical status or legend, smoking one, especially after a good 10 years after they came out, reinforces the veracity of those lofty accolades. I must thank @alloy for gifting me this cigar when I visited Fort Worth late last year. He picked them up in a 5-pack so I'm humbled to have had the opportunity to smoke this cigar, and likewise I feel obligated to share my thoughts for the benefit of our members. To borrow another popular Australian colloquialism, without "beating about the bush" (i.e. getting to the point), this cigar has started to turn a corner. Having said this, it has been quite a journey. Let me explain, if I can. The first year of this release up to its second or third saw many reviewers state how potent this cigar was, like very strong stout beer. The consensus was justified, you see, Pacific Cigar Company blends their Regional Editions for a 5-year development at least. It's why so few are great 'out-of-the-box' except for a very few, one of these being the 2014 Diplomaticos Bushidos, for example. The second phase saw the potency diminish a little but flavours were still strong. Reviewers mainly stated that the cigar had more development to go. I feel that after smoking this cigar, coming upon 10 years of age, that the flavours have mellowed and blended sufficiently to warrant stating that these are closing upon their peak, in my view. The main reason I believe this is due to the milk chocolate/cocoa, leather and cherried stewed fruit profile remaining consistent throughout the smoke, it only lifted in intensity a little in the last third. Previously I found this milk chocolate profile much stronger. There is a dough and dried apricot sweetness to the cigar that was more evident here than I ever remember it being so before. If you have any RACF left then you are very fortunate. I can count mine on one hand, I look forward to smoking them gradually in the next few years. 32
Popular Post bigbwalls Posted March 9, 2019 Popular Post Posted March 9, 2019 Diplo 2 - August 2018 Right off the truck, but I’m impatient and it was a relatively warm day. Lots of spice up front, pepper through the retrohale. It’s like smoking a green pepper, smothered in sweet syrup and sprinkled with paprika. Sounds gross but it’s delicious! Partagas Serie E No. 2 - Nov 17 This is my first from the box - and I’m glad I bought them from a 24/24. If the others are half as good as this one, it’s a win. Fantastic draw, slightly wonky burn but it has corrected itself. There’s cinnamon-spice and leather in each puff. Great... GREAT cigars. 26

I bought a Jar of these for a Birthday gift to myself in 2016 and smoked 3 so far and thoroughly enjoyed all 3 of them. My box code is "EML ABR 14" so they are almost 5 years old now. I will be smoking quite of few of them when the weather gets warmer this Spring. ? 9

Popular Post RDB Posted March 10, 2019 Popular Post Posted March 10, 2019 I made a mess of this. Forgot my cutter and had to pick an ugly hole with my nails. Then smoked it too fast in the windy Cape Town weather. Nearly passed out from the nicotine - possibly because I spent last night on the plane! There’s a good cigar in there somewhere though... 18

I can't imagine a SP being ready ROTT, though the Serbian release of a few years ago definitely was ready to rumble earlier than I expected. '13 HdM du Gourmet. Mild, but with a dizzying array of multi-layered complexity: exotic woods, flowers, perfume, cream, stone fruits, sweet kitchen spices and chocolate that keeps me guessing to the end. Smoke it too quickly and you get slapped in the mouth with acrid garbage; slow back down and it's back to easy street. This and Punch Punch are the most reliably complex smokes in the Habanos lineup. 13
