Popular Post prodigy
I really need to work on my will power. Decided to get a baseline on these. ROTT and it was amazing!! I am hoping we found our first house this afternoon. I don't want to jinx anything as we still have a long way to go, but it was perfect. Celebrating with a monsdale. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G891A using Tapatalk Going to have to find a special smoke for tonight. We are under contract to purchase that home!!!!Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G891A using Tapatalk
Popular Post JohnS
Hoyo de Monterrey Epicure No.2 BUP Mar 2018 I've been waiting a little while to have my second from the box, but I must admit that in terms of flavour, this was not as good as my first one. In terms of construction, then yes, this was nowhere near as tight on the draw as the first from the box and it burned well. Sometimes you can't win them all! So what was the difference form the first cigar sampled? Basically I found that more creamy and less spicy, so more to my preference. This Epicure No.2 was nevertheless finely balanced, with light milk cocoa, clove and cinnamon spice and some vanilla on the edges. I look forward to the next one.
Popular Post SigmundChurchill
Hoyo de Monterrey Maravillas from the 2015 Collection Book I spent the last 2.5 hours smoking this behemoth cigar, right off the truck. They looked so good I couldn’t help myself. The wrapper was smooth and silky to the touch, perfect construction, and a smell that was out of this world. The first 1/3 was dominated by rich leather and wood flavors which lasted about an hour. It was outstanding. The middle portion lost those flavors and became mostly black pepper, which isn’t my favorite cigar profile, but after about a half an hour of that, it became enjoyable again with more sweet flavors of waffles and syrup. That continued through the final 1/3 and became more intense adding flavors of gingerbread to the finish.

Popular Post prodigy
Fired up this bad boy to celebrate my first house purchase. Well, almost purchase. We signed the contract and now have to go through the process. The cigar had great draw but started out very muted with low smoke output. After an inch or so it became super rich and creamy. Definitely worthy of the occasion. I have a dark, almost Maduro one I may smoke when we close, unless I find something more epic hiding in my humidor. Popular Post RDB
Trinidad Coloniales, MUP ABR 18. A few green spots on the moderately veiny wrapper, but a good deep colorado colour otherwise. Blessed with another lovely sunny 17C day here in London, I sparked this over lunch in my garden. Full flavour and over mid body. Really quite intense actually. Clear Trini DNA, I would say a little more savoury and punchy than the Vigia. Burnt cakes, North African spices, resinous wood. Great aroma from the smoke in the air. A sense of umami in the mouth. Nicotine buzz too, and I wasn’t rushing it. Burn was a little wonky and required a few touch ups. No big deal though, and the ash held well. The power promises good development with age, and when I put it down after 45 mins it was because I’d had enough nicotine rather than any bitterness. Long distance runner, and one to baby if smoked young. 22

And I do enjoy monte very much such as the M2, M1, and the PE is one of my favs. Last one from this box this past summer was bad so I decided to put them away.
