earthson Posted February 15, 2019 Posted February 15, 2019 Sorry no pic. Fuente 858 Rosado from the recent release. I almost always smoke Havanas, but when I don't, it's almost always a Fuente. World-class tobacco that reminded me of Cohiba with its ginger and lemongrass. 1
Popular Post Chucko8 Posted February 15, 2019 Popular Post Posted February 15, 2019 Por Larranga Montecarlos LGR JUL 2017. This is such a wonderful smoking experience, thoroughly enjoy these. Was a great work time coffee break day. Magic! 16

Raskol Posted February 15, 2019 Posted February 15, 2019 Would like to know more about your experience with this stick. Between Esplendidos and Corona Especiales I've held off on picking up a 3x5 of them. Have yet to try the Esplendidos & Corona Especiales to compare... Have A few in my humi waiting to acclamatize.. As for the Piramide Extra has always been a great smoke for me so far.Great construction, great combustion.. Earthy, woody, lil hints of sweetness especially in the first third... Sweetness tends to disappear as you go along...moves from med to med full in body. Thoroughly an enjoyable smoke..My palate isn't as good in getting all the taste. It is one of my favorite smokes... Hope it will be an enjoyable one for you as it was for me. Give it some time, I'm very sure you will enjoy this cigar. Sent from my SM-G965F using Tapatalk 3

I haven't even received my Corona Especiales or Esplendidos yet, but don't see myself even trying one for a year and will try to hold onto them at least 3 or 4 years before I start picking through them. Piramides are definitely on my list! 1

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk The 858 Rosados are a unique blend, to be sure - there are 5 different wrappers, but these are head and shoulders above any of the other versions. I'm not even sure these have the same fillet blend. They've been released I think 3 times total: this past fall, 2009 and sometime in the early 2000s.

Popular Post LGC Posted February 15, 2019 Popular Post Posted February 15, 2019 Not a fan. Flavors were ok, but typical EL wrapper type profile for me. Refused to stay lit in last half with under filling and poor burning wrapper. 13 1
Popular Post JohnS Posted February 15, 2019 Popular Post Posted February 15, 2019 Partagás Presidentes (2018 Xmas Sampler Series) The Partagas Presidentes is synonymous with 'Old School' flavours, strong earth and leather, but this was not like that at all. This was my seventh cigar from the 2018 Xmas Sampler and I was pleasantly surprised to find that the strength was around the medium mark, the flavours were a mix of Partagas sourdough and coffee with a Fonseca-type marshmallow sweetness, and it stayed that way until the end. Despite been a 'perfecto' shape, which lends itself to construction issues due to being harder to roll, this burned and smoked well. If you've enjoyed the Partagas Serie E No.2 this past year, do yourself a favour and give this a try! Trinidad Fundadores (2018 Xmas Sampler Series) The eighth cigar I've had from the 2018 Xmas Sampler Series, this was every bit as consistently good as the combined seven or eight ARS and RAG '17/'18 box code cigars I've sampled in 2018. This was milk coffee, dough and a touch of spice which picked up a little more in the last third. Again, as I've mentioned in previous reviews of Trinidad cigars in this smoking thread, this milk coffee and dough combination is unlike the more complex wood, grass, honey, coffee flavours I've picked up in Trinidad cigars (that) I've smoked in the last 3 to 5 years. Less complex, but every bit as good! 22 1

The question is a matter of tolerance, can one admire the 'toasty' qualities in these when youthful or is there a stronger preference for a more rounded flavour as they age? As they rest they take on more floral, sweet and creamy notes. I guess I'm lucky because I don't mind them either way. 4
