nikesupremedunk Posted August 4, 2012 Posted August 4, 2012 Ene 07 JL2 from Rob's Aged seleccion. A hammer. Had a more recent JL2 last night and it was a complete 180. Very different looking cigars. Current JL2 look are gorgeous, the 07 is really rustic. Like them both for different reasons... I haven't tried any recent JL2 but the 07 was pretty darn good. How are the recent ones?
mbrody Posted August 4, 2012 Posted August 4, 2012 I haven't tried any recent JL2 but the 07 was pretty darn good. How are the recent ones? Medium body, some leather, sweet and sour spices, lush. upman and partagas love child. If I ever calm down a bit, I will send you one...

Lotusguy Posted August 5, 2012 Posted August 5, 2012 LGC MdO #3 from July 2002. Outstanding, but needs to be sipped in order not to overheat it. Patience, grasshopper

maverickdrinker Posted August 5, 2012 Posted August 5, 2012 about to fire up a 98 Bolivar PC to enjoy with a dram of Hirsch Small Batch Bourbon. This better be good Wes....LOL
ramon_cojones Posted August 5, 2012 Posted August 5, 2012 mga may 10 upmann 2 best one so far from the box but not up to my usual standard, was pretty good though
nikesupremedunk Posted August 5, 2012 Posted August 5, 2012 Medium body, some leather, sweet and sour spices, lush. upman and partagas love child. If I ever calm down a bit, I will send you one... That's very generous of you! Had a wonderful Monte 2 today, probably the best one so far from my box of 10. Creamy milky chocolate/coffee throughout the cigar. Going to save my other 6 a couple more months and see how it evolves.
Pilgrims Posted August 5, 2012 Posted August 5, 2012 Just back fro Spain where I had the below, felt a bit ill when I arrived and a migraine at the end so only managed 7 smokes in 12 days, poor form really. Have given them scores as I didn't have make full notes etc Rafael Gonzales Petit Coronas 16+ (20) - elegant soft and a lovely smoke, great morning cigar Ramon Allones Small Club Corona 16 (20) - was good, not as RA as some but still decent, richish, good after lunch R & J Cazadores 18 (20) - really loved this after a big bbq, full but not harsh, animal richness, special Ramon Allones Specially Selected 17 (20) - a young one but bang on, stewed fruit and christmas cake etc, medium full loads of smoke Sancho Panza Non Plus 15 (20) - fairly plain and simple as ever but enjoyed it as it is the first one I have had in years and many years ago was my very first Cuban Sancho Panza Quijote (RE - Espana) 17+ (20) - never more than medium but did develop well, better in a bit more time but right now a very classy smoke Hoyo du Depute 16.5 (20) - this was a little star, had an early rise to come home so just wanted a small smoke post dinner on the last night, could be a new fav smaller smoke and that is that, brought a few sticks back so look forward to them
jrb5783 Posted August 5, 2012 Posted August 5, 2012 Smoking a Custom Roll Corona from the Toronto mega herf I forgot the rollers name but it's damn good
DougB Posted August 5, 2012 Posted August 5, 2012 '07 H Upmann Monarch...wow- that was a good cigar. Started out refreshing and light with subtle tea flavors and moved to cream, nuts, and earth. Finished big and strong.
