It might be cold, but i am in a Caribbean state of mind.  Excellent pairing.  Balvenie 14 Year Old Caribbean cask with a H Upmann Royal Robusto LAU Apr 2017.  Almost good enough to keep me outside for one hour.

Eh, it was kinda like the old Mercaderes. Pleasant enough, but slow to start and not very much complexity or evolution. I can imagine that they were pretty boring when they were fresh.

A noteworthy, under the radar NC. Smoked several of the Robustos last year from my local B&M, absolutely enjoyed the complexity of flavors. Recently picked up a few of the churchills of the same when I saw them on the shelf. Easily the best Tatuaje I’ve had. Highly recommended if you come across them. Partagas meets H Upmann meets RyJ flavors.

Lit with cedar and this is a very good smoke.

Before this cigar I attempted to smoke a Diplomatico #2 that was horrible. Tasted like Cuban cardboard. That's the third Dip2 that disappointed me. Must have been a bad batch.

So true! I have a box of the 2009 Churchill's, they may be some of the best NC on the planet...

The Vagueros was pretty good, did not blow me away, but for the price was good.

 

As far as the El Morro- I have smoked quite a few of them and still have a considerable amount of them left.  I have noticed wide swings in quality for the violeta.  Some have been top notch extremely complex and a sublime smoke.  Others have been bland and flat.

I love that cigar. Bought two. Smoked one right away and held onto the other for a special occasion. $23 a cigar was too expensive for me to buy a bunch. Well worth it though

2016 RASCC to brighten my day after dropping the car off at the shop because the door is stuck locked! 

Plus side: today is the 3rd anniversary of my breaking up with my ex fiancé! One of the best decisions I ever made! ?

 

PMS DIC 13 habaneros. Got a bit tarry. Had to lop the head a couple times. My lips are still tingly. Can’t say I’m surprised. This was the most veiny and ‘rustic’ example yet from this box. Still a nice nightcap either way.

Since the Unicos was so great yesterday, I dug out one of my Petit Unicos Suiza. I didn’t care much for previous ones but wow, this one had an unbelievable honey sweetness with every puff.

 

 

And, since it’s apparently Tatuaje day here, I followed it up with a Bride I picked up as a single. Not bad.

Double Edmundo from some FOH winnings a while ago. I haven’t had much luck with Montecristo but this was very good.

A BCJ that makes me remember why i used to buy Bolivar (MUR FEB 13). Makes retohaling a JL2 look like a Monte Open ?. This box has been plugged to high hell but this one is underfilled and the smoke is loose, voluminous and packs a great Friday evening buzz. The ash has that Bolivar slate grey dime stack. Dark roast coffee and earth.
