Escaped the frigid 70f of Southern California for the tropics of North Carolina for the weekend. 

Brought one of the kids to see my parents in Burlington NC.

Lovely patio for an evening smoke.

Ending my vacation with an Opus X that I picked up while in Disney Springs - I didn’t bring too many cigars with me because I didn’t think that I would find the time to smoke. While it’s not bad, it does remind me why I switched to primarily Cubans a while back - it’s missing that twang that I love so much.

Sancho Panza Non Plus ABR Sep 2011

I haven't had one of these for a few months and I was keen to enjoy the unique cream, salt and wood flavour profile that you get when these are rested for sometime. Flavour-wise, this was superb however the draw was a little tighter than I'd prefer. Hopefully the next one from the box draws better.

An ugly but delicious principe - a la an @JohnS montecarlo. Perhaps a skosh one-dimensional, but what a great dimension. Solid ginger and cinnamon bomb from start to finish, despite a brief canoe. Mediocre for a principe, which is to say quite pleasing.

It's love and hate. When my box first came in about 5 months ago, it tasted aweful. It was lack of the signature Partagus rich favor but dull like some poorly aged sticks. I smoke a stick every month hoping it would improve but the progress was not significant. It was until last night when I pulled another stick out of my box dated 2007 again, I felt like I was drinking a well aged 20 years old Bordeaux wine, nothing but elegant. I am not sure if this will benefit from aging further but I am glad this is no longer a bad smoke.

Perfect question. In light of recent get togethers with @alloy and @Luca, who both espouse the virtue of this wonderful little product, I haven't had to concern myself with it as I rarely get draws that fall outside my comfort range, which I admit is quite wide and forgiving. Perhaps I should invest in perfect draw for that odd occasion!

This is the 4th San Juan I’ve smoked from the box and I’m growing concerned. Each one required a few pokes of the perfect draw to even get the faintest draw. They’re rolled so tight, you can see the wrapper damage near the foot that exploded open after inserting the perfect draw. I surely hope the rest aren’t like this.
