Uneven burn, flavors faded in & out. More towards morning kinda smoke for me. Cohiba Medio Siglo - Strong flavors from start to finish. Construction & burn was good. Both have creaminess & touch of wood. Preference would be Medio Siglo as the bold flavors were there from start till finish. 1

LLC Posted January 22, 2019 Posted January 22, 2019 Did you stop by Union Cigar Society in Seattle? That’s a local shop for me and wouldn’t be surprised if they recommended that Warped! I’ve bought plenty from them over the years. Yes that is where I went to buy the cigar and then smoked it there in little area close by the store. The guy running the place seemed like a great guy. Popular Post mtd057 Posted January 22, 2019 Popular Post Posted January 22, 2019 Can anyone help tell me what these spots are on this Partagas Lusi? This is the third stick from a 10pk (BUP Sept 17) and the only stick that has them. Outside of these spots, it was very well made - construction and burn were fine. The flavor wasn't as good as its box mates but that's probably me overthinking things. 11
Popular Post JIK Posted January 22, 2019 Popular Post Posted January 22, 2019 Sharing some fundís with the fam. Don’t mind little bro, he always removes the band before he starts smoking. 16

Those green spots are thought to occur when the wrapper is curing (or drying out) and there are imperfections in spots to do with humidity, whereby the chlorophyll in the wrapper leaf remains, rather than turn brown. It has no effect on the taste of the cigar and there is nothing to worry about. 1
Popular Post cfc1016 Posted January 22, 2019 Popular Post Posted January 22, 2019 AEM JUL 14 reyes. This whole box has just been delightful. Chestnuts, hops, sourdough, some sort of non-peppery spiciness - like wasabi ir radish or something (it’s awesome, whatever it is). I can’t wait for that lovely salted-pretzel thing that trinidads always give me at the end. There it is. Delightful. Mmmmmmmm 18

This is the old demolished brewery tap that used to stand in the centre of my fair city. Sadly it was pulled down before I was of legal age. With it's inoffensive creamy mild nature, I imagine this was a good pairing for a Hoyo. Old mild beers are a welcomed break from hop monsters these days. Hats off to you Sir I have no idea what "Pub Ale" is supposed to mean, definitely an Americanism 6

I think each box has had ***slightly*** different character, but that it’s much more a result of different harvests than aging. In my opinion, reyes do not need age to show their potential. I think they’re excellent regardless of age. You will not ‘miss out’ by smoking them young. As long as they’ve had ~60 days to acclimate to your humi, I say smoke em now. 1

I tried one less than 60 days down, as I usually do because I get impatient haha. Was good but could tell it needed the full 60 days. Thanks for you input! 1
Popular Post JohnS Posted January 23, 2019 Popular Post Posted January 23, 2019 H. Upmann Connossieur A (2018 Xmas Sampler Series) The first cigar I've sampled from the 2018 Xmas Sampler and of course I'm going to start off with one of the most reputable. Well, it did not let me down! Quality shortbread, almond nut and light coffee all the way. The only surprise here was that the body of this H.Upmann Connossieur A was slightly stronger than what I'm used to, and more so on the palate then through the nose. But it didn't alter how much I enjoyed it at all. Juan López Selección No.2 (2018 Xmas Sampler Series) The second cigar I've sampled from the 2018 Xmas Sampler and this was light on orange citrus and chocolate and more heavy on toasted tobacco and coffee. Also, much more intense than would I would like, I couldn't retrohale this in comfort, for example. In regards to strength, it was medium to medium-full but the flavours in general were okay, I'd have love this to be more refined but it's a bit much to ask for a cigar less than 12 months old like this one. Ramón Allones Specially Selected (2018 Xmas Sampler Series) This was the third cigar I sampled from the 2018 Xmas Sampler series and it was exactly how El Pres described it in his recent 24:24 write-ups. All raisin, coffee and tobacco and did I mention intense? Yes, very intense. If I compared the likes of some Ramon Allones Superiores or Ramon Allones Gigantes I've had in the past year then I'd say that this Specially Selected Robusto was at least twice as potent in body and strength. For my preference I'd need a minimum of 5 years rest to get this cigar at my desired point prior to smoking. 24

Then give everything else a good 60 days. I find reyes to be pretty bulletproof. I’m hard pressed to recall one that didn’t satisfy. Trinidads have a nice distinctive character. To me, that justifies the extra price point above my other favorite in the size range - principe. 1
