First cigar of 2019. A PSP Montecristo Double Edmundo. I think it's from 2013 or 2014, I can't remember. Cooking out hamburgers after taking the girls to the park this morning. A nap may be next....

 

Back to reality tomorrow morning. Looking forward to getting back into the office. Finishing off and nice holiday vacation season with a 2006 siglo VI tubo.

1. Diplomáticos No.2 LGR Abr 2018

It was strange to smoke a cigar indoors, but that I did in the Corona cigar Lounge in Orlando, Florida at Corona Cigar at Dr. Phillips. Wow...what a store! And the Downtown store is bigger? I must have been the only guy in the place smoking a Habanos. Very typical Diplomaticos...sourdough, bell pepper (or capsicum), toasted tobacco and a little nut. I was just grateful to enjoy a cigar lounge today, the cigar experience was secondary!

2. Cohiba Shorts

I lit this up soon after finishing my Diplomaticos No.2 in the Corona Cigar Lounge at Dr. Phillips in Orlando. I think subconsciously I must of have been thinking that the patrons were all smoking large ring-gauged cigars and someone needed to redress the 'imbalance' in the room! Cohiba grass, hay and honey in a 10 to 15 minute smoke, what more could one ask for in regards to value?

It was really good and I think they’re quite unique in flavor. This was my second out of the box and both have been very consistent.

La Punta is not to everyone's taste, there are several reasons:
- taste is not stable, depends on year to year release, wrapper, rolling density;
- this is a medium-body cigar, like those who are not looking for strong cigars;
- if you smoke deep and strong puffs, the taste degrades to only wood&wood&wood. It need to slow puffs, then the cigar will reveal the whole range of flavors.
Specifically LGR Nov 2017 I liked. It is still dry, I think it will take about 3 months to full acclimatize and not need for aging. The wrapper is very gentle, it is necessary to moisten gradually, otherwise there will be cracks. I liked the taste: wood, nuts, honey, a little sweetness. The first centimeter is very little taste, then the cigar warms up and becomes very rich. Tight twisting, torsedor generously put tobacco. Fear that after moistening can be difficult puffs. I'm happy I bought the whole box.
