Well seeing that I'm out with the family tonight and highly unlikely to be able to smoke a cigar, I had to pick something very special last night as my last smoke of 2018.

As I sit and reminisce the year for its ups and downs, this Cohiba Majestuosos 1966 cigar leaves me speechless in its class and delivery of flavour.Citrus, cream, berry notes with a sweet, lingering and long lasting finish on the palate.Not one rough bump, super smooth throughout.Construction is perfect.

Cohiba, Habanos SA, Cuba at its very best.Replaces an aged Siglo VI as my favourite cigar and quite frankly the best cigar I've smoked in 2018!

Many thanks to the BOTL who gifted this to me-I'd love to say I have 19 more in the humi Thank you Sir for the opportunity to smoke this tremendous cigar.The small community of cigar smokers has opened the pathway in my personal experience to be able to sample some epic cigars.

Remembering my late sister - Jane Xue Hui Law who passed away on March 21st this year at the age of 36 years young.

Vintage 2003 Cohiba Pirámide from Cohiba Seleccion Reserva - Cabinet of 30 cigars

I did not have hopes to get in a cigar today, especially with tomorrow looking to be great weather, but I got off of work early, grabbed a bunch of Guinness for tonight and decided to try to sneak one in in the backyard in 65F weather - a little windy as a front is coming through soon, but she was as steady as always. Closing out 2018 with one from a consistent box - RASS MUR OCT 13 - while listening to the 12/31/72 Grateful Dead show.  Feeling fulfilled and thankful this year - my humidor is quite literally filled to the brim and am fresh back from a maiden trip to Cuba just chuffed at how wonderful that island and its people are and already itching to go back.

Me, it's winter, so 5 year old Fuente Hemingway Short Story maduro.  I pretty much only smoke Havanas and Fuentes.  Huzzah!

P.S.: I'm on some Cabo Wabo Reposado right now!

I had it at a Rating of 89, good taste, nothing wow, had to relight at least 3 times, same thing with the Esplendido from this same Cabinet box. The best ones have been the Robustos.

i got two of them, way back whenever. one from rob and one in cuba. one (without mentioning which) had some of the cigars on the bottom level sans bands - an early warning for me of what quality control in havana was like.

one box was destroyed in the much-lamented dodgy humidor flooding incident (not pointing any fingers, rob, but, j'accuse...). the other, i'm yet to open. so never actually tried one. hence the curiosity.

Final cigar of 2018...this year I saw the birth of my first child (son), tons of personal challenges, and elevated role at work. Onto next year. Happy New Years to everyone. Chances of me making it to midnight = 0%. It’s midnight somewhere.

What a wonderful final day of 2018. Finished dinner with the wife and our five year old and two to year old daughters.  Adults (sorta) had ceviche, guacamole, tortilla chips, and I threw in a corn dog.  All washed down with some bubbly. 

I might stay up late...may see 9:30 tonight ?
