I’ve been smoking in Barcelona over the last few days.

Still lots of the LGC Regionals around, even at some of the smaller Estancos.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Almost had one of these beauties tonight, unfortunately my mate had to cancel and I just didn’t see myself finishing one of these 1.5kg steaks for 150€ on my own! Next time!

 

Saw these at a market on the weekend, got two of these molds at home and might attempt to fix one up myself.

Diplomáticos Excelencia 2015 - Edición Regional Cuba SGA Dic 2015

I like to thank my dear friend, @khamy for bringing these back from Cuba. It was a few years ago, and after reading initial reviews, I knew, for my taste, it was best to give this cigar some rest. How was it after almost 3 years? Surprisingly, the strength and intensity of flavours was a little above medium and more intense than I expected. However, it was definitely indicative of the Diplomaticos marca.

In regards to construction, which was an issue upon release, this was impeccable in regards to burn. As for flavour, the cigar started out like some previous Diplomaticos Bushidos I've had, but then the intensity took over. Sourdough, sour cream, paprika pepper, toast and roasted nuts were the main flavours I cottoned onto, but I wonder if I could give this cigar another year or two so that the strength diminishes a little and the perhaps the sour cream aspect comes more to the fore. No matter, it was still a very good smoking experience and I'm grateful for having sampled this cigar.

Revisiting a cigar from the first box of Cubans I ever bought on my visit to Havana. Didn’t like them when I got them. Now it’s a powerhouse. Would almost say a touch more full than I really like. But like with smells in general, this one brings me back to my vacation in a big way.
