Jan ‘18, Punch Punch. All I can say is, WOW. Major shift from 30 days ago. It still had the pre-light fresh hay aroma but after  the fire this thing had turned into a powerhouse of sweets. Back half evolved into more of the dough and pepper like typical but there’s a sweetness I would call cane sugar mixed in. I was not expecting this to be so good at this stage.

I’ve only ever tossed one other whole cigar because it had issues.  This one was the second.   No smoke.  Tight draw that loosened up with a perfect draw treatment.  Acrid flavor and a real turd.  It was a relief to pitch it, actually....

These piccadores turn 2 years old this week. Wow the improvement since I first received them is night and day! Half a box left, I might buy another box and forget I have these for a few years.

Carly has left me for 6 months on her deployment with the Navy. Not to worry though! Carly was kind enough to write a book for me: "A Guide to Living on Your Own"

This is going to be a bestseller, it has information on everything. How to use the washing machine, how to use the slow cooker, WiFi passwords etc... I should be fine....right...??

Celebrating and commiserating her departure with a 2018 ERDM Chiox Supreme ☹️ I already miss her

Been a while since I posted here but.. Wedding (not mine) Saturday, the groom pulled out some Party Culebras from the groomsmen. Have not had many recently but this (2015 I believe) was spot on. True Partagas flavors, well balanced.

PLPC TOS MAR17 just before the ceremony. Hints of caramel but probably won't get there for another couple of years. Still smoking nicely though, more body than I usually expect from the vitola/marca.

After dinner, RASS MUR JUN13. No more left from this box, good specimen.

It was. I think that perhaps they’ve reached a sick period. I can’t come up another reason. Construction and draw were perfect but I literally tossed this at halfway it was so bad.

What great weather today. Had to break out something I knew I’d enjoy.

SOM SEP 15 Punch Punch from a cab. Wow, what a great cigar.


Later decided to open up one of my new boxes of HU Mag 46’s that I picked up a couple of months ago. I do have some from 2005 but trying to keep those for special occasions.

ABO ABR 18 HQ. Started out quite good; at the one inch mark I tried to knock the ash off but it stayed on. Construction for the first half was perfect but got a bit wonky after that. All in all good for such a young cigar and think these will only get better.
