Thank you ayepatz for gifting me this aged H.Upmann Connoisseur No.1! This smoked exactly as I thought it would, it's at the point where the espresso coffee flavour is receding and the shortbread and cream is building. If you give it another 3 years, then I envisage it would be shortbread and cream from start to finish. Around the middle point of the cigar the white pepper and toasted tobacco started to take over which gave it a nice complexity for me. Great smoke from start to finish! 2. Trinidad Ingenios 2007 - Edición Limitada OUR Dic 2007 (thank you again, @ayepatz!) The Trinidad Ingenios 2007 Limited Edition has been noted as one of the worst-rated Limited Editions upon release on our forum. The irony is that after around 7 years, these started to wake up out of their bland cacophany. You see, Trinidad is a somewhat complex marca, it's difficult at times to nail down the myriad flavours in their vitolas, but they do share a coffee, hay and sweetness that sings when you smoke it! This Ingenios was gifted to my by ayepatz (thank you mate!), and I must emphasise just how good this lonsdale was. It started off as all chocolate and coffee, like many a limited edition cigar, but along its spine was an aged baking spice which pulled me in. In the middle third there were notes of wood, cream which intensified in the final third, with stronger herbal flavours and leather. Wow, what a beautiful complex smoke and what a joy it was to nub! I still have almost 5 boxes of the 2011 H.Upmann Connoisseur No.1 in my Humidor and I only smoke them on special occasions because they have been my favorite cigar. I agree they are a Great smoke from start to finish. 2

Popular Post JohnS Posted September 15, 2018 Popular Post Posted September 15, 2018 1. Montecristo No.4 NNSL-VC-1 (circa November 1995 - thanks @IanMcLean68!) Gifted by Ian (thank you!), this 1995 Montecristo No.4 embodied what is great about our community, namely, generosity, fraternity and the joy of aged, fine cigars! Fuzz was also gifted a cigar from this box and he described it as (aged) baking spice and floral in the first half, with walnut and anise in the back half. I think this is quite an apt description of the flavours, perhaps I would add that there was a light dusting of cocoa at times. I took satisfaction in nubbing this! 2. Por Larrañaga Montecarlos TOS Mar 2017 This cigar represents half the box smoked in 4 months, so one could say that I've very much enjoyed them. This was more toast and coffee, with caramel shining lilting in and out, there wasn't any real honey-type sweetness though. No matter, I loved the flavours until the very end, upon which I resolved myself to re-organise my humidor and hide the rest of the box at the bottom of it so that I can try one again in the long-term future! 3. San Cristóbal de La Habana El Príncipe TOS May 2016 This cigar was a great way to end a great night at a Japanese Restaurant with some other Sydney FoH members. Cocoa, coffee and molasses and perhaps surprisingly, no spice. I do believe it may be time to re-stock this soon! 19

Popular Post havanaclub Posted September 16, 2018 Popular Post Posted September 16, 2018 These cigars are just stunning. Makes me wonder why I don’t just smoke these alone. What I would do for a 50 cab of these beauties. 2016 PP PET AGO 16 from our host. Cedar, floral, all Cuban twang and I always seem to get some sort of fruity tang from these, can’t put an exact flavour note to it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 18

Thanks @JohnS, you and all the guys are more than welcome! I am so happy I shared these around. It is nice to enjoy a fine aged cigar, but it is a wonderful priceless thing to be able to share that rare experience with other like-minded appreciative friends from FOH ? 3 2
