I was using the theory that if I had an old bottle of Bordeaux, I’d follow the advice of not drinking until it’s time, but you’re right in that there are multiples in a box. I spent some time up north at my friends' cottage last week and managed to get a few cigars in. 2010 Montecristo A. This was a dessert in a cigar. Coffee, chocolate, cream.. just sublime. Smoked if far faster than I should have. 2018 La Puntilla. Loved it. Complex and balanced. I hope the rest of the bundle is as good. 2013 Ramon Allones Robusto Corto. Hate this vitola, loved the cigar. Pure RA DNA at it's best. 2014 109 vitola custom roll. Ordered the blend to be close to an RA898. It's wasn't close, but it was a damn good cigar. The aroma at cold was chocolate chip cookies and the flavours, complex. I feel good about the other 24 that remain even though the blend missed the mark on what I asked for. 2014 RASCC. A firm draw but a solid flavour bomb throughout. I definitely hold these in higher regards that RASS. 2013 PSD No 5. Pure Partagas profile joy throughout. These are aging just fine. I don't have many so it was a real treat. 2015 Diplomaticos Bushido. This was a smooth, sweet ride. Not as complex as the first ones I smoked about a year back, but definitely had my attention for about 2.5 hours. 2010 Hamlet custom Robusto Extra. Stupidly smoked this by a campfire. That threw off some of the flavour nuances as I had to dodge campfire smoke hitting me directly. Running away from the fire increased the enjoyment, but dropped the temps for me by 10C. Was hoping for more from this one. I’m a little more than half way through a ALO ABE 16 cab that has more under filled poorly constructed disappointing cigars than good ones. Thought the 14 would restore my faith but despite the much better flavors and complexity, it was also under filled and poorly rolled. I have some others from 2015, I’ll have one soon to see if they were made by someone having a good day. RASS won the day.
