Popular Post WABOOM Posted August 31, 2018 Popular Post Posted August 31, 2018 MSU Oct 17. Amazingly good. Minerally, leathery, lots of cedar. Also getting the hint of Turtle Wax polish. I've gotten that once before in a cigar. The other time was in a fresh Alex. 7 1
Popular Post SigmundChurchill Posted August 31, 2018 Popular Post Posted August 31, 2018 Finishing up a Siglo VI on the 8th hole. The flag is a nice touch for Labor Day weekend. 16

awkwardPause Posted August 31, 2018 Posted August 31, 2018 Is that the 888? How was it and how do you think it will fare in the long run? -ShakeYep, just got my box since I was really intrigued by the size and was looking for a nice change of pace from my typical CC regimen. I don’t smoke a lot of FFOX or NC’s, in general, but this was really, really good and I think it will have a bright future. What it had in strength and pepper was balanced by a nice creaminess and absolutely phenomenal construction/burn. Sometimes I forget the level of QC these high end NC’s go through and man does it show. I’d say snag some if you’re a Fuente fan  2

I bought a box a while back and am happy to have them.

Was it affected by the so-called infamous "bad" years in Cuba? 99-02 thereabouts I would give it a 90 Rating, since the draw is very lose, it smokes a little hot and harsh, but with time it has mellowed out. Who knows maybe it gets better in the next 18 Years.
Popular Post Cubadust Posted August 31, 2018 Popular Post Posted August 31, 2018 Not far away now with this 14 PLPC, I’m guessing two months or so. 12

Popular Post encephalization Posted August 31, 2018 Popular Post Posted August 31, 2018 Yesterday was 2013s. PLMC, just fantastic, convinced this is the best value of any cigars with the right age. HUHC, almost as good. Today I tried a RyJ Petit Royales from 24:24, almost ROTT but still has a lot of true Romeo flavors. Cherries (on the finish especially) and the final third was dominated by chocolate.Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G891A using Tapatalk 12

Popular Post BlackFriar Posted August 31, 2018 Popular Post Posted August 31, 2018 Going the cheap and cheerful route this evening with a Quintero Nacionales. Been dry boxing a few days as the last one straight from the humidor got pretty acrid a third of the way through. This one is starting off strong. Good spice notes, with some leather/tobacco flavors and some dense smoke. Solid non complex flavor profile. Considering it’s under four dollars for a cigar, I couldn’t be happier with its performance out of the gate. Update: Just finished the cigar. Really enjoyed it! The dry boxing made all the difference in the world! Will take about five out of the Humidor to dry box and smoke next week. When I cut the cigar, it had that nice dimple from the rollers who use the old bic pen shells to push in the rolled binder at the end. Nice to see such quality rolling in such an inexpensive cigar. The ash was flaky but it was a bit windy. Is this a consequence of short filler? 7

I still have tons of Cubans from 2011-2017 but realize that, for my tastes, the HQ non Cuban stuff is simply better. YMMV. The Cuban mystique and price point (much like Burgundy) will draw buyers but it's based on a pipe dream. For every case of Burgundy I buy I get far more enjoyment from a simple Italian and Cental American wine or a freshly rolled N.C.. If anyone wants some prime aged cigars please p.m.! 1

inter4alia Posted September 1, 2018 Posted September 1, 2018 Ditched the VSG I fired up earlier before it was finished. Really not to my taste. Rebounded with this maduro which started outstanding and was getting better with each inch then a monsoon decided to hit out of nowhere. Hid under the umbrella for about 30 minutes hoping it would pass. No luck, so had to toss this right about half way through. Not happy. Was reminding me of padron 1964. Chicago weather, what can you do... A lot of hype about this stick. Turning out to not be my cup of tea. Can't win 'em all. 4
