Thanks Hutch!!! As much as I love cigars, there is nothing else like the smell of roasting coffee--as long as you don't roast super dark espresso lol people often confuse it with brewing coffee, but it's unlike anything else. Very distinct. One of my favorite things to do as well

Popular Post SigmundChurchill
PL’s seem to be popular today, so I decided to pull this out of the humidor... Edited to add this Monte Maltes. I just broke into the box for the first time tonight. Strong dark flavors (like the Dumas) that are going perfectly with this double ristretto.

I’m not too good at picking out individual flavors from cigars like caramel, almond paste, or birch wood, but I will say this cigar has a classic PL flavor with no big surprises, which in this case is a good thing. A very good thing.

Popular Post JohnS
1. Cohiba Magicos (circa 2008 - thanks Trevor!) The Cohiba Maduro Magicos is often considered the least reputable of the Cohiba Maduro line (the Secretos is most-favoured, followed by the Genios). Perhaps it's just the size, because this aged Magicos had wonderful mellowed flavours of chocolate and coffee well-balanced with Cohiba grass/hay and honey. This is exactly how you want your Cohiba Maduros to smoke, in my opinion. Thank you Trevor for gifting me this cigar! 2. Cohiba Piramides Extra (circa 2012 - thanks again, Trevor!) The Cohiba Piramides Extra is amongst my very favourite Habanos cigars. I don't have them often, but invariably I find that they offer me great rewards of satisfaction whenever I reach for one. This was no exception. Beautiful elements of mocha, Cohiba grass/hay and honey with a butter smoothness and vanilla and citrus on the edges. You know a quality cigar when you keep getting flavours well into the final third and it doesn't become bitter or too 'hot' on you, and this was certainly true here. Thank you Trevor for gifting me this cigar! 3. Trinidad Fundadores (RAG Nov 2017) This Trinidad Fundadores exemplified how great these have been in the last 12 to 18 months. The blend exudes the recent trend (or emphasis) towards a coffee and dough flavour, and this dominated throughout, as well as aspects of madeira cake and almond nut. Despite this being just 8 months old, I shared one with Trevor and we both agreed that it smoked every bit as well as the numerous aged cigars we've smoked together. 4. Montecristo No.2 (PMS Abr 2015) This is a PSP batch of PMS Abr 15 Montecristo No.2 which looked, was constructed and smoked beautifully. This is how you want your Montecristo No.2 to smoke and if you're like me, you've probably had your fair share of average to ordinary ones. The balance of flavours is what made this stand out for me, cocoa, coffee, leather and nut wrapped up in a creamy texture off the smoke. This was 105 minutes of pure cigar smoking joy!

Popular Post LLC
MEG MAY 17 Connie A. I have a few boxes of these open at the moment and these are the youngest and least pleasing to the eyes but smoking great. Enjoying with an Americano while watching a former Blue Jays pitcher continue to do well for the NY Yankees. College football starts tonight, can’t wait for the season to start.
