Popular Post George-eed Posted August 4, 2018 Popular Post Posted August 4, 2018 Rare moment when all the family is away and I can spend the evening sitting in my conservatory listening to music and enjoying this La Gloria Cubana platinum. I bought a box on my trip to Amsterdam a couple of weeks ago and I’ve been itching to try one. I just lit it whilst typing this by the way and from my first impression, I know I’m really going to enjoy this! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 11

Popular Post JohnS Posted August 5, 2018 Popular Post Posted August 5, 2018 Edmundo Dantes Conde Belicoso 2016 - Edición Regional Mexico TOR Nov 2016 I smoked this cigar with Trevor Leask, the founder of Cuban Cigar Website, and this Edmundo Dantes Conde Belicosos certainly lived up to its lavish reputation. Best described as a blend of Montecristo and Por Larranaga marcas, this was all cocoa, coffee, nut and caramel marshmallow sweetness with a gorgeous citrus tang on the retrohale and draw. It's no wonder these sell and are much sought after. Consider yourself fortunate if you've picked up a box! Cohiba Lanceros - circa 2005 (Thank you Trevor!) Gifted by Trevor, this Lanceros solidified for me why these can be great young, and other-worldly when aged. A beautifully complex long and skinny, flavours were ornate from beginning to end. Mocha, milk coffee, Cohiba grass/hay, vanilla, spice and honey, it was all there until the very end when I nubbed it. 5 out of 5 but it really deserved a 5 1/2! 15
Popular Post LLC Posted August 5, 2018 Popular Post Posted August 5, 2018 SGA DIC 16 Dantes from a box I pick up in Havana. Had only had one from the box but based on just picking up five more from a friend, I decided to try another one from my box. Burn, draw and construction were near perfect but flavors were good not great. House down the street has a big party every August long weekend with a live band. Great Cuban music so stayed out in the deck and grabbed a RAG SEP 17 Reyes along with some Santiago 20 year old rum. Great pairing; construction wasn’t good as the Dantes but flavors were complex and enjoyable for such a young cigar. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 11

Compared to the other, more recent LEs (GE, 520), which were/are truly great, a disappointment so far, though the format is so much more enticing.-
Popular Post Fugu Posted August 5, 2018 Popular Post Posted August 5, 2018 Petit Cetros. Always a little rough on the palate, but a cigar of fair complexity and a nice, genuine Cuban aroma. Sure, a non-finesse, mass-produced, cheap little TC, but a very honest, non-chichi cigar - and a lot of it for the money, for sure. Not too long ago I said I wasn't overly sorry about them to become discontinued - I think I'll have to revise that. There are occasions where these perfectly fit the bill. 8 1

Hopefully time will help the Dantes. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 2

Never heard of it so I had to investigate. I guess they were all handmade until 1980, where they turned to machines to make all their cigars, not just the smaller vitolas. Probably why they got discontinued 1
