aavkk Posted March 18, 2010 Posted March 18, 2010 I just cracked my box of 08 ERDM GDE's in honor of Tampa- it seemed like a fitting reason to take a 3 hour lunch break and smoke one of the very best thin ring gauge smokes. RIP brother.
thechenman Posted March 19, 2010 Posted March 19, 2010 In rememberance of Tampa I smoked a Partagas SdC No. 2. Great cigar. RIP Tampa...
Buch0 Posted March 19, 2010 Posted March 19, 2010 Diplo 1 last night in memory of Tampa.. Had goosebumps for the first third I must admit. RIP mate.
compitaveggie Posted March 19, 2010 Posted March 19, 2010 Smoked one of the custom made cigars I got from Cuba. It was a canonazo. I really wish I had a long and skinny to smoke in honor of Tampa, but it was a great cigar that I was not expecting to smoke for at least another year. RIP Tampa. Jose
SandmanTR Posted March 19, 2010 Posted March 19, 2010 Enjoyed an 09 PSP#2 tonight. Great first 2/3, last 1/3 was a bit off. Overall a good cigar. Needs a decent amount of age I suspect.
Bartolomeo Posted March 19, 2010 Posted March 19, 2010 Boli RC 2005.....Pretty girl with no boobs, boring Sancho Corona 2001.........Cougar with nice curves Bart
JoshMP Posted March 19, 2010 Posted March 19, 2010 Partagas 898 My balcony, hot day, in the sun, before lunch Wrong time Wrong place Only got 2/3rds through before I bailed out.
JoshMP Posted March 19, 2010 Posted March 19, 2010 partagas 898 Same box as above Balcony, After an early dinner Watching the sun go down Definitely a winner, full bodied, complex. Beautiful burn and draw.
SandmanTR Posted March 20, 2010 Posted March 20, 2010 RyJ Duke EL. First one and what a pleasant surprise. Great smoke from start to finish.
archosaur Posted March 21, 2010 Posted March 21, 2010 Tried my first Trinidad Robusto T yesterday. Recent single from Czar. Medium bodied throughout, nuts, toast, cream, baking spice, delicate hints of pepper here and there. Outstanding.
Kangaroo495 Posted March 22, 2010 Posted March 22, 2010 Los Statos Brevas - great potential Boli Immensas - smoked a few lately, doesn't push my buttons.
ChanceSchmerr Posted March 22, 2010 Posted March 22, 2010 After a terrible start to the week, I lit up an Alec Bradley Family Reserve. Another cigar pumped up by cA, another bust - average, average cigar.
samb Posted March 23, 2010 Posted March 23, 2010 Wonderful HQ ERDM CS and Laphraoig 10yr, smoked to the nub. Congrats to me on my first A on a quiz in this damn Thanatochemistry class.
dicko Posted March 23, 2010 Posted March 23, 2010 my first dip 4. enjoyable! I posted a review attached to LeafLovers review in the Cigar Review sub-forum if anyone is interested. Cheers, Dicko
thechenman Posted March 25, 2010 Posted March 25, 2010 Monday night was a phenomenal Partagas 898V...the last third was a bit flat, but the first two-thirds...exceptional...classic Partagas. No wonder the 898V is the flagship of this marca. Last night a Montecristo D EL 2005. Virtually plugged. Super tight draw. Did not open up until the final third, and only then a little. If this was not my one and only Monte D...I would not have bothered. Very unenjoyable smoking experience.
mbrody Posted March 25, 2010 Posted March 25, 2010 Hoyo Epi #1, 08. Nice smoke overall. Subtle/medium flavors. Not a blockbuster, but not a dog either. Smoother/lighter than my 08 Epi 2.
Stalebread Posted March 27, 2010 Posted March 27, 2010 Yesterday afternoon: Por Larrañaga Magnificos. It lived up to its name.
4WheelsOut Posted March 27, 2010 Posted March 27, 2010 I am smoking vast quantities of P2's. Very good cigar.
JoshMP Posted March 29, 2010 Posted March 29, 2010 Montecristo Petit Tubos. Darker than the heart of the devil himself. Beautiful flavor but a bit too easy on the draw.
thechenman Posted March 29, 2010 Posted March 29, 2010 After finishing up with meetings in Baltimore and D.C. at the tail end of last week, the family met me down in D.C. for the weekend. While walking around the city among the blooming cherry blossoms and taking in the sights, I smoked several cigars over the weekend. Bolivar Immensa Hoyo de Monterrey Du Gourmet La Gloria Cubana Medaille d' Or. No. 2 Vegas Robaina Maestro RE Exclusivo Espana 2006 The Bolivar and HdM left me a bit flat, but the Medaille d' Or No. 2 and Maestro were phenomenal smokes. Also picked up a bunch of NCs at Georgetown Tobacco.
thechenman Posted March 30, 2010 Posted March 30, 2010 Sat on the front porch as it rained last night smoking a Punch Super Robusto 2007 RE Exclusivo Asia Pacifico while watching "Damage" starring "Stone Cold" Steve Austin. A good friend of mine wrote the screenplay to the movie. It was a bit too 80s kitsch for me, especially for a 2009/2010 release. I'd have to say my favorite screenplay/movie of his is "The Cooler" that starred William H. Macy, Maria Bello and Alec Baldwin. Now that was a great flick.
