Popular Post JohnS
Montecristo Especiales No.2 LAU May 2016 Very typical Montecristo flavours of Cocoa, Coffee and Nut is evident, but what makes the Especial No.2 stand out is the cedar and vanilla finish. This was so wonderfully smooth for only a two year-old cigar, I can only see it get better in the long-term with (hopefully) the expectation of a creamy texture and mild baking spice finish. Cohiba Robustos PTR Ago 2015 The last Cohiba Robusto I had was okay, this was superlative in comparison! It was the mild mocha coffee flavours combined with the Cohiba grass/hay, honey and vanilla that I especially loved about this Robusto. The construction was spot on too, no burn corrections, viscous quantities of smoke per draw and the ash was lengthy and consistent. I wish every Cohiba Robustos was like this one! Rafael González Perlas 2012 (Thanks Steve!) These came out in 2012 and was gifted to me recently by Steve. Notice the 2010 older-style band? Cuba being Cuba...nothing is wasted, as the current Rafael Gonzalez banding came out in 2012. Anyway, this came from a 5-pack and I promise you I thought it would be plugged as it was a hard as a dowel, but no, it smoked beautifully! Cocoa, floral and honey combined with some aged baking spice, this was the third fantastic cigar I had this week. Thanks Steve!
Popular Post LLC
UPE JUN 12 Cohiba Pyramided Extra 2012 LE. Had a rough day and needed some time to myself to unwind. Haven’t had one of these in a few years but what a smooth refined cigar. Enjoying it with an Americano but may go look for some of the good stuff for the second half. Popular Post Bram Smoker
Diplo Exclusivo Cuba (SGA Dec 2015 box 6178/7000). Late evening so please pardon the flash on the photo. I'm sure someone else has done it previously, but I went ahead and put the box number. Just in case, I'd like to see if maybe someone else has the same box as me.

Popular Post cfc1016
~ROTT PMS DIC 13 partagas habanero on the porch tonight with caity and her chico. No pics. Lights are out so we can enjoy the fireflies Edit: conclusions - this was spectacular. There was that characteristic old school partagas leather and nut vacillation throughout. Intermittently velvety/creamy. Just savory and spicy delicacy, to be certain, but the spice was a *compliment* to the other flavors, not an overshadow. Like a classically trained session-player jazz drummer, it guided the journey through the other flavors, without you even knowing it was there, unless you listened for it. Around the last ~1.5”, it became a kaleidoscope. The leather gave way to beef steak, five-spice, deep cocoa, and at the last ~0.5”... something special. Imagine a perfectly roasted marshmallow. Take that crispity crunchity blackened bit from the edge and remove all the gooey sweet bits. It was that. Just perfect.
