SOM Nov 16 Cohiba Siglo III, my favorite vitola in the Linea 1492 series because it is a Coronas Grandes (42 ring gauge x 155 mm or 6.1 inches). This had a wonderful balance of Cohiba grass/hay, honey and citrus with a light creamy texture. (It was) Fantastically smooth for its age!

Most milkshake IPA's have lactose added as well to make it thicker/creamer.

When I sold cigars in the late 90s this and the Hoyo Roth were my standard go to cigar. At the time they were in wrapped and unbanded in boxes of 50. Such a good cigar. The double Maduro was a good choice as well. 

I think something must have changed. Honduran tobacco is not as respected as it once was.

Cohiba Lancero – AMO JUN 16 From the Christmas sampler.....I'm a little behind!

 Having never had a lancero of any sort, I must say this is VERY good. I didn't know what to except, but the first 20min or so are exceptional. Perfect draw too. I may grab a box of these at some point given the chance.

 

Ok....gotta grab a box of these for sure. Great grass and hay and nice citrus and honey mixed in

Good Intel - thank you! Kind of left off on the brand in '15/16 after I started seeing box after box of inconsistency. Got some '15 Reyes that I am having no problem sitting back - they lack the elegance and depth previous vintages had.

 

'08 Partagas Salomon. Aged to perfection! I couldn't divide this into thirds, quarters or even tenths as the profile was a constantly evolving journey through the best Partagas brings to the table: peppery and rich earth, cocoa and paprika, exotic woods, luxurious musty/musky aged tobacco, buttery creaminess, leather and nuts. The only consistency was the finish - it was pure Partagas symphony and that's really the only way to put it!

Construction was typical for a Salomones - some touch-ups required and a looser draw than your typical vitola. Still, if you pay attention to it, you will be greatly rewarded. All finished with a respectable nicotine rush that reminds me of the few 90s-era Habanos I've had.

Punch Punch A/T ALT FEB ‘13 with a big glass of Four Roses OBSF Single Barrel and Ginger Ale. The weather in East Tennessee is spot on San Diego this afternoon. Mid 60s and cool breeze. This box was mongrel and Jekyll&Hyde the first 2 years. Now, it won’t make it to July. Spot on Punch Punch - construction, vitola, flavors are all there with this classic. How about some PSPs of these??

You know, it's always personal to a degree. But I am loving '16 and '17 production, in particular for its consistency.

I was lucky to get a 2007 box of these last year and have not smoked one yet.  I also have 5 1998 Monarch Tube from a box in my humi too.

These are in my top 3 of favorite cuban cigar that I have smoked over the past 20 years.
