Popular Post JohnS
MAE Oct 14 Montecristo No.4. It think this was the last one from my box. What a lovely smoke it was! Cocoa, nut, coffee and cream...just what you'd want out a 3-year old Montecristo No.4.
havanaclub
What’s your process for the freezer ? ROTT? How do you go about it Sent from my iPhone using TapatalkROTT= right off the truck, meaning smoked very fresh after shipping and without being acclimated in the humidor. Everyone has different methods to freeze cigars to kill beetle larva. I triple ziplock a bundle of cigars, suck out all the air out it the bags with a straw, and toss in the fridge to slowly bring them to a colder temperature. Some people skip this step and toss right into the freezer. I like to reduce the shock. After sitting in the fridge for a few hours I then put them into the freezer. Usually 3-4 days or more depending on how cold your freezer can get. If you have a commercial deep freezer you can keep them in for a day or so. I posted a research study about killing tobacco larva and temperatures and times needed to do so. After the freezer I then put them back into the fridge to begin the thaw. This can prevent wrappers from splitting. After 6 hours or so I’ll take them out to room temperature. Then after 6-8 hours I’ll introduce the cigars back into the humidor. Hope this helps. Everyone will have slightly different steps, but that’s the idea. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Popular Post thedame007
Well the power has been off in my area since 2am, so I decided to get outside to warm up. Smoked a RASCC (2013) the draw was perfect, construction great considering the elements, and it was 45 mins of rich spice and leather, I’m pleasantly surprised by the sweetness that’s coming through on these the older they get!Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

BuzzArd
On 3/2/2018 at 5:50 AM, Fugu said: It is always so shameful to see with how much unapologetic hubris Pete Johnson is continually making use of the Cuban heritage by copying their designs. Respectfully, I don't believe Pete Johnson holds an ounce of hubris towards Cuban heritage or cigar culture. I know his love of older Cuban cigars is what led him to Don Pepin and helped develop a Cuban style cigar for the US market. I like many of the blends, but prefer the Havana Cazadores the most. They were way better than most of the other cigars being offered in the late 90s and early 2000s for me. And I appreciate the design simplicity. If a simple band and a simple SLB presentation with a date code is hubris, then I'll take it. SO much better than all-covering neon bands that scream "buy me".
